Some of you will remember the blog that I wrote of an open letter rebuke to Kenneth Copeland, regarding Kenneth Copeland and the Catholic pope uniting under the false guise of Christian unity.
It’s more than doctrinal issues.
It’s heresy vs the truth.
Deception comes in all forms and Catholicism is another gospel that Paul declared to be cursed along with the messenger.
Since that meeting, James Robison, Kenneth Copeland and other evangelicals met with the pope, along with Tony Palmer.
This is stunning news about the motorcycle death of Tony Palmer.
Some will declare that God derailed this ecumenical move of joining the catholics together with the charismatics.
I will say that it doesn’t derail it. I will say that this death is very significant. To read into something without full knowledge of the intent is dangerous. Joining with catholicism is dangerous. Joining with almost any group that has questionable material is dangerous. Walking in deliberate error is dangerous. Walking in the truth and speaking the truth in love is safe.
It is important to remain focused on one thing and one thing only.
“…be even more diligent to make your call and election sure.” 2 Peter 1:10
Tony Palmer was not a catholic but an anglican bishop but something pulled on him to establish christian unity. Unfortunately, he turned towards the pope and the rest is history. For centuries, the system of catholicism has robbed many good people from walking in the true grace of God. As Paul said, “For by grace you are saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.”
Catholicism demands works for salvation, preaches purgatory, baptizes infants into the Christian faith by sprinkling, prays to statues, honors Mary the mother of Jesus as the Queen of heaven and mediator to God the Father, and a host of many other questionable, and blatant errors of Scripture.
Catholicism has yet to address and denounce these doctrines in order to be considered as followers of Christ.
Until then, it’s important that we vehemently protest.
The works of Martin Luther, William Tyndale, and John Wycliffe, and others sounded the alarm to stand against the error embedded in Catholicism to deceive the people into believing that they must worship the church.
While the catholics will deny some or all of this, all you need to do is look closely over the centuries to see the differences between catholicism and protestantism. Ask yourselves about what these differences are and conclude that the differences are unmistakable and undeniable.
Nonetheless, Tony Palmer’s death is a blow to Kenneth Copeland and other ecumenical evangelicals.
The question should definitely be asked “Will this hinder the intent of “unity?”
In my view, there is no question that his death will spurn them on to complete the work.
Given the information about the history of catholicism and protestantism, I wouldn’t dare to continue to move away from the hope of the gospel just because we want a little unity with allegiance to questionable and blatant error. The conflict of truth and error is a real game because it has eternal implications. If man chooses the wrong over the right, it will cost him. To choose error over truth demands a complete suppression of the truth.
Tony Palmer’s death is significant. We pray for his family.
We must not enter into hyper emotionalism. Meaning that we dare not declare that a person is in heaven just because people die a tragic death.
Repentance and faith in Christ alone is the only way to get into the heavenly kingdom of the Son of His love.
Faith in any other institution is a sure ticket to eternal condemnation.
Let’s pay attention to walking in the truth of God’s Word and seek to be on the same page with God and the rightly divided Word of truth. The Holy Spirit knows how to unify the Body of Christ with people of “Like precious faith.”
But the Holy Spirit of truth will not unify the Body apart from the truth in the Word of God.

I find it ironic that you speak of truth in the Gospel. That all forms of truth come only from this heavenly source inspired to men throught the Holy Spirit. Yet when did the final compilation of the bible occur. And from whose hands did they come. I would urge you to read the early church fathers to really grasp how we got where we are today. The final compilation of the bible came in the latter 300’s. So, what were people doing before then. Did all Christians just know what Jesus spoke or did they somehow supernaturally just know. And you may be surprised to know that the bible was formed and finally compiled through the hands of Catholics. Jesus did not come to have us separated from Him but to be united in His body. One church united in truth. Truth that was spread initially orally through oral tradition and then compiled throught the promptings of the Holy Spirit. The early church fathers will teach you that the tradition that Jesus left in his works and words was passed down through the centuries. Jesus did not just come and speak. He performed many works through His healings, His example and His prayer. We are called to do the same. Yes we can only be saved by God’s grace, but unless you really dwelve into the history, you will not see how it has all played out. Were there bad people in the Catholic church through the ages. Yes! But are there bad people in any church. Ironically you’ll find you answer to be the same. Yes! But who did Jesus have to work with. Humans that were all sinners. But you’ll note that there is a huge difference in the humans. There were many Catholics in those early years and even today that suffered greatly to spread the Gospel message of Christ. Initially this was done orally, bu the consequence was the same. Peter (the first pope) was the prime example. Death like his Master on the cross, but in complete humility he would not die like his Master for his Master was the only one to receive glory. Peter’s death was upside down on the cross. His example in striving to have unity is exemplary. Would you be willing to die the same way?

The works of Luther, Wycliffe, and Tyndale is evidence of the fact that catholicism is a dynasty of works. We have one Mediator to the Father. The Lord Jesus Christ. Mary is not a mediator or an intermediator. Our Bible clearly tells us that we pray to the Father in the name of Jesus (John 16:23). Also, there is either heaven or hell, no purgatory. A doctrine catholicism conjured up. Peter was never a pope. He was a married apostle. The 95 articles posted on the door by Martin Luther is a stunning reminder of the errors of catholicism that must be renounced. Errors of catholicism must be renounced in order for any unity to occur. Praying to statues and the rosary must be denounced because all that is necessary to pray to the Father is the name of Jesus. The prayer that Jesus prayed in John 17 is founded upon the teachings of Jesus to His disciples. Any other teaching that Jesus never taught must be renounced.

However, Peter is not a pope. In fact, the word “pope” means father. While catholicism declares that Peter was given the “keys of the kingdom” and that Peter was called “rock. This is clear error. The Greek gives us the truth about Peter’s name. g4074. Πέτρος Petros; apparently a primary word; a (piece of) rock (larger than 3037); as a name, Petrus, an apostle:— Peter, rock. Compare 2786.
The rock was the statement Peter (piece of a rock) made about Jesus. Peter said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus said “You are Peter or piece of a rock. The statement is from the Greek word g4073. πέτρα petra; feminine of the same as 4074; a (mass of) rock (literally or figuratively):— rock.
AV (16)- rock 16;
a rock, cliff or ledge a projecting rock, crag, rocky ground a rock, a large stone metaph. a man like a rock, by reason of his firmness and strength of soul.
The statement is the mass of rock. The keys of the kingdom is symbolic regarding the mysteries of the kingdom. The Head of the Church remains Jesus, not Peter’s. Therefore, Peter can’t assume any throne because Jesus said, “I will build MY church…”Therefore, Peter is just an apostle of the Lamb.
As far as the early “church fathers” are concerned, Jesus said in Matthew 23:9
“Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven.”
The works of John Wycliffe, Martin Luther, and William Tyndale made it possible to distinguish between what is true unity and false unity under a system that is completely questionable and suspect.
Catholicism must renounce Mary as an intermediary to the Heavenly Father. For Paul said “There is One Mediator between God and men, The Man, Christ Jesus.” If you are a catholic, are you willing and prepared to renounce Mary, the mother of God or Queen of heaven?
Catholicism must renounce sprinkling for baptism. For baptism mean to immerse in the Greek language. If you are a catholic, are you willing and prepared to renounce sprinkling?
Catholicism must renounce the bread and wine that actually becomes the body and blood of Jesus. For Jesus said “My flesh profits you nothing.” If you are a catholic, are you willing and prepared to renounce communion literally becoming the body and blood of Jesus?
These “traditions” is inconsistent with accepting by faith, the finished work of Jesus. If you are a catholic, are you willing and prepared to renounce these and other “traditions”?
There can be no unity as long as these and other doctrinal errors exist.
Faith in the grace of God to be save through the propitiation is the only way. “for by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast.”
“not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us.”
That’s Ephesians 2:8-9 and Titus 3:5a.
Finally, it’s not a matter to die like Peter but to live like Jesus. Dead to sin and alive unto God. Crucified with Christ. “Nevertheless I live, yet, not I but Christ lives within me.”
I assume that this conversation will end with you holding to your position and me holding to mine; that catholicism must jettison many “traditions” to conform to the canon Scriptures. Again, thanks for your comments.
