Lust Is More Powerful Than Pornography

Lust is more powerful than pornography?

Prove it.

James 1:14-16 (NKJV Strong’s) “But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.”

Pornography is an accelerant. It’s just a tool to tempt you to fulfill the lust in your mind and flesh.

Romans 13:13-14 (NKJV Strong’s) “Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”

Ephesians 2:1-3 (NKJV Strong’s) “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.”

Lust originates in the mind and fulfilled in the flesh.

Matthew 15:18-19 (NKJV Strong’s) “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”

Making provision is no different than Dr. Carnes’ addiction cycle.

1. Thoughts/fantasy.
2. Ritual.
3. Acting out.
4. Remorse.

It’s in the heart and mind of man where arousal begins.

Mental sexual arousal then searches out.

Whether it would be walking in the grocery store, movies, TV shows, the Internet, Walmart, Shopping Malls, beaches, the subway, riding around in your car, in church services, and other places.

Anything that looks beautiful to a lust hearted man, or any man that turns their head to look at you.

The venue doesn’t matter.

It’s the heart of men and women where the search for sexual fulfillment begins.

Pornography is an accelerant.

It’s the place where, in secret, and all alone, a male or a female uses sex tools or other fetishes to sexually satisfy themselves in masturbation.

The screen where the images become a tool to reach orgasm is idolatry.

These victims are Secret Sexual Sins victims.

Used over and over again in a vain attempt to feel loved, or sexually fulfilled or both.

Last count, there’s well over 289 million Internet porn sites, and growing.

Our iPhones and other devices is the place where men and women view porn or hook up for a sexual encounter. Texting locations such as homes, hotels, motels, and other places to rendezvous for sexual immorality.

Then there’s the criminal element in prostitution/human trafficking for the sex trade. There’s been an unending quest to engage in sexual immorality.

Professed believers are caught in the middle.

Some have given in to this world to attempt to feel sexually satisfied or loved.

There’s no satisfaction in sin.

But the rewards are never received.

Sin never rewards.

Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

When self sex (masturbation) is fulfilled, the conviction of sin hits the heart.

Arriving back at the bottom of the sexual addiction cycle, remorse, not repentance, sets in.

After recovering from the conviction of sin through remorse, the mind and body experiences a reset. The sexual urges and impulses return. The cycle starts all over again. We’ve learned how to suppress the conviction. We’ve learned how to overcome the voice of the Holy Spirit to seek the Lord in the time of temptation.

But people and even professed believers don’t care.

We walk into Walmart, the Mall, the movie place, and the look of and for lust returns. Or the wardrobe to turn heads is put on.

We rush right by the Holy Spirit to chase after a fantasy that will never be fulfilled. We go back to that image or that feeling of feeling loved, and start the process all over again.

All the while, we deliberately suppress the Word that the Holy Spirit speaks to our hearts and minds.

“Come to Me all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me. For I am meek and lowly in heart. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”

There’s only one purpose of pornography.

To engage in Secret Sex with that person or persons (whether homosexual, bisexual, or monogamous sex) on the screen in the fulfillment of self pleasure (masturbation), without dealing with the person in a relationship in marriage.

All in a pursuit to fulfill lust or to be loved, or both.

But what is it that males and females are really after?

John 4:1-42, in particular, verse 24, gives us all the answer.
