Update On Ted Haggard

Several years ago, Ted Haggard was one of the leading evangelical preachers that arrived at some level of success and fame.

He pastored New Life Church in Colorado.

It all came crashing down when a male sodomite prostitute revealed to the world the secret life of a well known and celebrated pastor.

Drug use (meth) alcohol, and sexual immorality is common among male prostitution and their “clients.”

These aren’t allegations. It’s a true story that’s all over the Internet.

A few years ago, there was a conference in California sponsored by “According To Pattern.” After I came clean and repented of pornography and masturbation in 2008, After the Lord commanded me to repent and come clean, I was invited to this conference.

I was one of the speakers but I didn’t know that Ted Haggard was also invited.

So I spoke on pornography among pastors but looking at it from this time in light of a video that I’ve seen, the Lord was merciful in trying to reach Ted with the Word of God as I was ministering. That conference was specifically made for the entire group, but it was made for Ted Haggard.

There’s no question in my mind that others have ministered to Ted because God always uses others to continue to reach one person because eternity in hell is a long time to think about why you’ve neglected so great a salvation.

It was the first time that I spoke on this subject to a group of men that may be involved in this sin themselves.

After some years of ministry, I thought that I would know what to do, but I didn’t. Commanding men to repent should have been the next thing. While it’s common to pray and ask God to deliver us from the power of darkness, what should happen is that you command men to repent and let the Lord do the rest.

Repentance is often shunned, much less discussed. Sin is treated like a mental illness issue that requires mentorship, personal coaching or psychological “therapy.” Sin is never to be treated this way. Repentance.

“God commands men everywhere to repent.”

Yes, even late in my life, I’m just getting to understand that repentance is what’s required from God in the Scriptures.

Remember when the Lord delivered that man from the Gadarenes?

Mark chapter 5 is a remarkable story of the Lord power over demons and the man want to stay with the Lord. The Lord never sent him to a psychologist or a mental health expert.

He told the man in Mark 5:19-20 (NKJV) “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled.“

That’s what I do. I’ve been delivered from pornography, now go and tell others.

Ted Haggard was exposed way before “According To Pattern” because he had no fear of God in his heart and he yielded to sexual sins in his flesh and mind.

If you claim to know the Lord, you would be terrified to sin against Him.

Proverbs 8:13 says, “The fear of the Lord is to hate evil. Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate.“

The love for sin and darkness is always founded upon pride and arrogance.

John 3:19-20 (NKJV) “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.”

1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV) “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

Repentance isn’t remorse or feeling sorrow and then walking away to commit the sin that you’ve claimed to have repented of.

Romans 6:1-2 (NKJV) “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?

Certainly not!

How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?“

Now Paul said in 2 Corinthians 7:10 that “Godly sorrow works repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted….”

Paul never regretted commanding the Corinthians to repent of their sins that were brought into the church that Paul initially brought the gospel. And neither should we regret repentance when commanded.

Look at what happened at Corinth.

Paul preached the gospel to them. Then word got around that sin had returned in their lives. They brought into the church some of the same habits that they’ve claimed to be delivered from.

Paul had to write a scathing letter that evidently produced such a sorrow, that it even caused the man that was committing incest with his own mother to repent.

Hypocrisy is the world’s indictment to the church when you claim to be saved from sin and then commit the same sins that you claim to be saved from.

True repentance is not just sorrow about committing that sin. Repentance is a U-Turn. You turn from the sin and then place faith in Christ alone, and then you live by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God for the rest of your life.

Paul said in 2 Corinthians 13:5 (NKJV) “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.”

What disqualifies us from being an authentic child of God?

Sin.

So how should a professing believer put themselves to the test?

Read the entire book of 1 John, and see if you measure up. Don’t get upset. Don’t accuse God or other believers that’s trying to help you out. Own up to it and examine yourself.

If you’re found lacking, just repent. Turn from wickedness and seek the face of the Lord. Begin to walk in obedience to His Word and abstain from every appearance of evil.

Myself, Ted Haggard and many others like the late Ravi Zacharias had secret lives until Luke 12:2 shows up. Like when Moses said in Numbers 32:23 (NKJV) “But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the LORD; and be sure your sin will find you out.“

The Lord exposed David by Nathan the prophet.

2 Samuel 12:12-13 (NKJV) “For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’” So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.” And Nathan said to David, “The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die.”

What David had done in secret in committing adultery with Bathsheba, killing her husband, Uriah the Hittite, a faithful and trusted soldier for David, God would have killed David based on Leviticus 20:10 (NKJV) “The man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, he who commits adultery with his neighbor’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress, shall surely be put to death.”

After David sinned, he penned Psalm 51, and God desires truth in the inward parts.

Psalms 51:6 (NKJV) “Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.”

He sought the Lord in repentance and for the rest of his life, David ran until he couldn’t run any more. Late in his life, he sought to build the Temple for the Lord but because he shed so much blood, including Uriah’s, Solomon was given the task to build the Temple.

The Lord would use Solomon to build the Temple but Solomon had yet to be born.

There’s nothing hidden from the Lord.

Psalms 90:7-8 (NKJV) “For we have been consumed by Your anger, and by Your wrath we are terrified. You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance.“

Hebrews 4:13 (NKJV) “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”

Romans 14:10-12 (NKJV) “For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God. So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”

The sad update on Ted Haggard is that he started another church called Saint James. Possibly because James said this in James 5:19-20 (NKJV) “Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”

Or…..James 4:12 (NKJV) “There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?”

I don’t know but

They had started Saint James in the basement of his home, and then grew a large following to where they were able to purchase a building. There were allegations that there were other victims that came forward in New Life Church.

Then there were allegations that his sexual immorality continued in Saint James and the elders requested that Ted step down from being pastor of Saint James. Ted Haggard refused and evidently, the people left.

When people leave, so does the money.

As stated before, when you need money, the church finances is an excellent place where false pastors dip into the church funds to fund their sinful habits of drugs, alcohol, extravagant living, and sexual immorality.

Even up to 2022, Ted Haggard had resurfaced with these ongoing allegations.

What will solve this?

True repentance. A complete U-Turn. Simply stop the hypocritical living and obey the Scriptures and come back to your first love. Matthew 22:37-40, John 14:15, John 15:14, 1 John 2:1-6, and 1 John 5:1-5.

Ted and his wife had done therapy to save their marriage. You can do therapy BUT it could be used as a cover to make it seem like you’re getting help but guess what?

No repentance.

It’s no different than exorcism.

You’re making a deal with demons and it gets worse.

Matthew 12:43-45

“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.

Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.

Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”

It will only get worse for Ten and his wife.

To stop the sin cycle, then do the thing that every man in darkness fears.

Spiritually confess your sin before people and expose yourself (see James 5:15-16).

Sadly, his wife appears to be in denial and this is resulting from the shock of knowing that your husband, who you’ve trusted all of these years, having 5 children from this marriage was betrayed and to this day, she’s still with him.

She has stayed with him with is a testimony to her intestinal fortitude to ride this storm.

Some will disagree and wonder like myself, why is she still there with and for him?

The only thing that I can say is that each person will respond differently to these tragic events.

We pray to the Lord that’s she’s not in delusion. But I’ve had a personal story about a sodomite music minister marrying a woman and she contracted HIV/AIDS from him.

Tragically, her and her daughter are dead.

Paul said in 2 Timothy 2:19 (NKJV) “Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

The link to the update was removed because of its connection to sodomite sympathies.

At the end of the update, it gave the appearance that sodomites are victims of evangelicals.

First, the evangelical movement isn’t innocent and the sinful connections to sexual immorality of any evangelicals and deliberately covering up any sexual immorality is indefensible, unjustified, gross, vile, sinful, and it can’t be denied.

Not all evangelicals are like this. In almost every organization lurks the dark world of sexual immorality.

Second, at the conclusion of this video, there were sodomites that were viciously killed in Florida. The shooting and killing of any person is murder.

Anyone celebrating their unfortunate deaths is just plain wrong.

This is not to say that all evangelicals were celebrating their deaths but there’s some wicked fake evangelicals that celebrate the killing of sodomites. They definitely don’t have the love of God in them.

As well as using their deaths to gain sympathy for sodomy is equally wicked.

It doesn’t minimize the sin in their lives in a sodomite bar but to solicit sympathy while giving the appearance that evangelicals are to be vilified, while sodomites are portrayed as victims is wickedness according to Isaiah 5:20.

Murder is sin as said in Exodus 20:13.

Sodomy is an “abomination” according to the Lord in His Word in Leviticus 18:22, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 1:8-11, and Romans 1:18-32.
