NO Fear To Sexually Sin Against God – The Absence Of The Terror Of The Lord

There comes a point in our lives when we sense that something bad is about to happen when we assume invincibility.”

We continue in sin because we willingly abuse 1 John 1:9.

“If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

1 John 3:6 says, “Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.”

For 33 years in masturbation, 10 of these years in pornography, I abused that verse of Scripture.

It became my hypocritical fall back position so that I would “seem” right when it would be time for me to preach and teach the Word of God.

Afterwards, I would resume the sexual addictive cycle of

1. Thoughts/fantasies.

2. Ritual/Provision for the flesh.

3. Acting Out Sexually.

4. Remorse.

There is a difference between remorse and repentance.

Remorse is about you being sorry that you got caught.

Repentance means godly sorrow that works repentance, leading to salvation not to be regretted...” (2 Corinthians 7:10). You fully grasp that you hurt the heart of the Lord in your sin. It means that you are done forever with that sin according to Proverbs 28:13. Remorse covers sins. Repentance removes sin far from you because you are in God (abiding in Him see John 15:1-8) and so near to God (see James 4:7-10).

Hebrews 12:1 says, “Let us lay aside every weight and the SIN that does so easily beset us…”

James 1:21 says, “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”

Do not get me wrong. God lovingly forgives us freely. That’s His nature. When we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, BUT when we treat God like a walking mat and walk all over the blood that was shed for us because we would not stop sinning, we do not have the terror of God in us.

In 2 Corinthians 5:9-11, Paul says, “Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.”

The dispensation of grace has been so abused that we now hear convoluted teaching that we can sin and all our future sin is forgiven because Colossians 2:11-15 declares that God nailed the handwriting of ordinances against us to the cross of Christ. Past, present, and future sins are forgiven.

Many people have said as a result that….“God knows my heart.”

Yes, He does know your heart that it“…is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, Who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

Ecclesiastes 8:11-13, the Preacher said, “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him. But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God.”

You have to ask yourself if you are a practitioner of lawlessness or not.

Because if you practice sin because you claim that you can’t control yourself, the Lord will tell you one thing.

“Depart from Me you who practice lawlessness.”

When you have the terror of God in you, you will not sin.

When you didn’t get judged for the last time you sinned, nothing happened, you feel that you could get away with it. Again, and again.

The endless cycle continues.

Why?

No fear of God in us.

Many have talked so much about the “fear of the Lord” as if it’s just the reverential, worshipful fear of God when we are in a church service.

After hearing Paul Washer preach on this, my perspective dramatically changed.

I already had a healthy fear of God like avoid the third rail on subway tracks. I already knew about the “flame of fire in the eyes of Jesus,” Revelation 1:14, 2:18, and 19:12.

But to understand the fear or terror of God in the light of your sins is a different perspective.

As I was witnessing with the Abolitionist’s Agitation Signs of murdered babies, a lady was offended that a man would tell her about how to govern her right to choose. She claims to be a professed believer in Jesus, yet, she advocates the murder of babies. She told me that it’s between her and her God. It was bold and blasphemous.

How?

When you stand before the judgment seat of Christ, it is not going to be a Hollywood award ceremony.

Days later, I said to myself, she really do not want to stand before the Head of the Church, if she is genuinely saved, to give an account for what she just said. The flame in His eyes is not a light show. It is the anger and terror of God staring at you and penetrating your entire being. To the degree that you will understand, in no uncertain terms, that He is fully God and fully angry.

It is there, in the Flame of His eyes, that the good and the bad will be judged by Him of all believers that made it into the kingdom. It will be the place where all our deeds will be exposed and where we will render an account before God.

Paul said in Romans 14:10-12, “For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Then there is the judgment of our works. That is, the things that we believe that the Lord told us to do and built on top of the foundation.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:10, “But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”

The reason why believers sin so easily is that there is no terror in the eyes of people.

Paul said in Romans 3:10- 18, “As it is written:
“There is none righteous, no, not one;
There is none who understands;
There is none who seeks after God.
They have all turned aside;
They have together become unprofitable;
There is none who does good, no, not one.”
“Their throat is an open tomb;
With their tongues they have practiced deceit”;
“The poison of asps is under their lips”;
“Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.”
“Their feet are swift to shed blood;
Destruction and misery are in their ways;
And the way of peace they have not known.”
“There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

If we were really terrified of God, sin would be a quick thing of the past.

There are many people that do not like this kind of God. They would much rather have the loving, soft, forgiving God that understands that we are not perfect and that He understands that we make “mistakes.”

There is a vast different between making mistakes and deliberately sinning against God.

Many believe that this is “sledge hammer preaching.”

No, this is the very nature of God that we never preached about because all of us want to avoid turning people way from what the Bible clearly states.

We avoid these messages because as Todd Friel, Ray Comfort, and Tony Miano said we have erected a god that is not like the God of the Bible.

Many of us practiced idolatry and didn’t even know it. We have shied away from the awesome terrible God that brings judgment upon those that continue in sin. Grace cannot abound when we continue in sin (see Romans 6:1).

Paul tells us “That if we would judge ourselves we would not be judged.”

Every time folk in the church of Corinth took communion, they would get sick and some of them would die because they had failed to discern or fully understand the Lord’s Supper. This means that you understand clearly, and with all gravity that the Body and Blood of our Lord was sacrificed for our sins. To desecrate this celebration is blasphemous and worthy of judgment, up to and including death.

Therefore, we must preach the terror of the Lord because when you are not scared to sin, you will sin as easy as breathing air and drinking water. You will not think twice about going for it. But after you get a revelation of the terror of the Lord, we need to warn others to be very afraid because God is love, but He is also just, righteous, and holy, and God has zero tolerance for sin.

Pastors & Politicians : Stop Letting Sin Stand In Your Pulpit

stock-photo-abstract-of-speaker-with-podium-128086265It happens more often than we could imagine.

Years ago, as a young believer and preacher, I would watch my pastor, Reverend Dr. Benjamin James Lowry invite politicians to speak in the pulpit at Zion Baptist Church.

Back then, it would be considered an honor to have certain politicians address the congregation. Obviously, the politician would use the opportunity to showcase” their candidacy or garner votes to remain in office. These political episodes were successful and certain candidates would continue for years in office with the help of certain high profile pastors.

A church would be a safe place because it served as a civil way to address people without being questioned about certain positions, and it served as a platform for pastoral endorsement purposes.

If the pastor endorses a candidate, the congregation would feel safe to vote for that candidate.

Irrespective of a politician’s position on certain things, the people in the church would suppress the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, and vote for that candidate.

For years, this has been the normal/abnormal way to do business. We reject God like the children of Israel did in 1 Samuel and the Lord God gave the children of Israel what they wanted. Saul was a classic example of a man that loved the applause of people while disobeying God. Saul’s cowardice was noted when Goliath challenged the children of Israel. Kings that have a heart for God will fear no man.

Yet, these are the same kind of candidates we vote into office here in America.

Candidates that please the people instead of fearing God are dangerous candidates.

James 4:4 is a very powerful Scripture because these days, we are finding that pastors are on the wrong side of the Word.

There is a reason.

A pastor’s Secret Sexual Sins life is the foundation.

What does Secret Sexual Sins have to do with politics?

Everything.

The political candidates of today support the sin of homosexuality and abortion.

Many pastors support these sins as well.

Out of the side of their mouths they will say…….“I know what the Bible says about homosexuality and abortion…….but I’m going to support this candidate.”

When you hear that, it’s a dead give away that they support a position that is clearly defined in the Word of God as sin.

Pastors all across the country have compromised the Word of God and that gives some people a license to compromise the Word of God too. Only the sane believers will walk out of that church and find a legitimate pastor that stands for the Word of God no matter what.

Only insane believers remain because they are crazy.

You heard me right. CRAZY!!!!!!!

YOU HAVE TO BE CRAZY TO BE AGAINST GOD.

No one survives being against God.

Exodus 20:5-6 “…For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

Jesus said in John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

John, an apostle of the Lamb said this in 1 John 5:2-3 “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”

Is it no wonder that sin is in the house of worship as they pretend to praise God?

Where is there harmony between God and the pastor?

Is that harmony sensed, known and cultivated among the people?

Where is there a genuine fear of God in the house?

You do not get to rewrite the commandments to suit your lifestyle and justify sin.

Is it no wonder that perversion is evident in the house of the Lord and the world approves?

There are pastors that are in bed with the NAACP, a rogue organization that is no longer a house for Civil Rights but Immorality Rights. Pastors receive their honors and that’s an abomination before God.

“Come out from among them and be separate says the Lord.”

Listen to the Message Bible of Matthew 15:1-9

“After that, Pharisees and religion scholars came to Jesus all the way from Jerusalem, criticizing, “Why do your disciples play fast and loose with the rules? “But Jesus put it right back on them. “Why do you use your rules to play fast and loose with God’s commands?

God clearly says, ‘Respect your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone denouncing father or mother should be killed.’

But you weasel around that by saying,

‘Whoever wants to, can say to father and mother, What I owed to you I’ve given to God.’

That can hardly be called respecting a parent.

You cancel God’s command by your rules.

Frauds! Isaiah’s prophecy of you hit the bull’s–eye:

These people make a big show of saying the right thing, but their heart isn’t in it. They act like they’re worshiping me, but they don’t mean it.

They just use me as a cover for teaching whatever suits their fancy.”

So should we expect the people of God to live by the Bible that we are not living from ourselves?

Should we expect the people to abstain from sexual sins when we can’t abstain ourselves?

Does God approve of our deliberate intention to sin against God and His Word?

Paul said this in Romans 6:1-2

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it.”

This will not end, unfortunately. Why? Because pastors are too busy boosting their personal profiles to look important before the people to care about the heart of God. The LBJ administration knew how powerful a pastor is and decided to institute a policy to prohibit pastors from speaking against politicians.

After watching the Civil Rights Movement topple segregation, especially after the King assassination, he found a way to get Blacks on the bandwagon.

Congress gave Blacks the right to vote and then silenced the pastors from speaking against the politicians or risk losing their tax exempt status.

For years, this has hampered a pastor’s ability to apply the Word of God against any candidate that has the hint of sin in the pulpit.

Yet, at the same time, they use a pastor’s pulpit to be endorsed and voted into office.

This double standard must cease.

I make it my business to tell people do not vote for candidates that support sin. If they do, they will give an account to God for their votes. While I cannot stop people from voting for certain candidates, the best I can do is warn them not to vote for a candidate that support what God is strictly against.

This is a free speech issue and the First Amendment allows me to say what I want. Outside of the First Amendment is my responsibility regarding who I allow in the pulpit. If a politician desires to speak at the Lord Church, the answer is NO!!!!!!!

Whether they agree with the Bible or not, the answer is NO!!!!!!!!

I’m not going to stop a Bible series just to look good and have pictures taken.

Wait until after service for picture taking. In fact, if I know that you support the sin of homosexuality and abortion, I wouldn’t want to look like I endorse you with my face.

Don’t call. Don’t ask and I won’t tell you NO because you were told way before you called in this blog……….NO!!!!!!

If we can’t preach against candidate (a law I refuse to obey) a candidate can’t say anything in the pulpit.

If pastors would take this stand, we can cut off a lot of sin in the house of worship.

But I suspect that there are a lot of jelly fish backbone preachers in our pulpits that will give in and do it each year.

Sex- The Wrong Reason To Attend Church

You were in an awesome moment with God in praise and worship. And then, as the Word is about to be preached, from the back, a young lady comes walking in. Your attention immediately changes from hearing from God, to hearing the urges and impulses in your flesh.

For women, you just can’t get your eyes off of the man of God. You can’t wait until the service ends to be charmed by a married pastor. After all, you honestly believe that he is all that. And you believe that he will give you much attention with what you are wearing.

Men and women attend church for the right reasons.

To worship God. To hear the Word of God. To grow in their relationship with God. To fellowship with the people of God.

But it has now become a common ground for sexual hook ups.

As one pastor puts it, if you are going to meet a mate, what better place to meet a man or a woman besides the club?

However, what has happened is that people just meet for the sex without the marriage. The benefits and privileges of marriage without the “till death do us part.”

To avoid the marriage part, MSM is prevalent due to the lusts of the flesh. Leaving the “natural use of the woman” is becoming more common. With the women, it’s the same. Entertaining the thoughts of a sexual escapade with the same sex as far as women are concerned, is now more common than ever.

The woman at Jacob’s well is a classic example of the search for water inside a thirsty soul.

Jesus addresses the problem by zeroing in on one common factor among all who are self imprisoned in Secret and Overt Sexual Sins.

Lust.

In every person is the urges and impulses that are enlivened when a man or a woman is tempted sexually.

The woman at the well is no different than every other person (John chapter 4).

This woman had five husbands and she gave up marriage altogether to commit adultery with the person she was with (number 6). Evidently, she was dissatisfied with number six and quite possibly was on the hunt for number 7.

The water conversation could have been taken by the woman at the well as a sexual conversation but it sure didn’t end that way.

The Lord Jesus quickly maintained His sexual discipline and stayed on point with the Scriptures. The Lord knew that she was searching for something and had the answer to her longest needs. The need to worship God in spirit and in truth. The need to drink from eternal waters. The need to leave behind her “water pot” that she used to pull up water that she would thirst for again.

The “water pot” of sexual immorality, she didn’t need it any more because Jesus told her about herself and she finally broke free.

When you break free, there is no need for a “water ( sexual immorality) pot.”

I remember a story of a woman that was married and she just couldn’t stop having sex with other men. She convinced herself to believe that something was lacking in her marriage. She thought that by having sex with other men, she would be relationally satisfied. It didn’t work out as she planned. She ended up with Cervical Cancer. She finally got the help she needed and the Lord delivered her from the sexual addiction of multiple male sexual companionship.

Cervical Cancer is sexually acquired.

You increase the risk of acquiring this and other diseases with multiple sexual partners.

The well she was drinking from fooled her into thinking that she could be satisfied.

For men, porn operates the same way.

By looking lustfully at scores of women and masturbation as if they were there before you, is that seemingly endless cycle of being satisfied. It’s the carrot on the stick that no horse earns. Sexual satisfaction can never be achieved in the multiplicity of mates.

Sadly, women come to church with their water pot” in search for fulfillment. To have a man is not the pinnacle of the value of a woman. To have the Lord is more valuable because only the Lord can fully satisfy.

It is good that men and woman come to church to hear the Word of God but when there is an underlying motive, the mind will pursue that motive until something happens. They will hear everything but the Word of God. They will do everything to give the appearance that they are interested in the Word of God. But underneath is that one thing that keeps them in pursuit for sexual immorality.

The men are the same way.

In the house of worship, the men are just as hungry and thirsting for sex with another woman.

Years ago, I remember going to a Baptist church as junior deacons. After the service was over, I thought that we would sit around and talk about God, and the Bible. After the benediction, they abandoned me and another junior deacon. I searched around the church for them and they were no where to be found.

I found out later that they planned all along to “hook up” with the other young girls of that Baptist church we’ve visited.

To my knowledge, I do not know if they had fornicated in pre-marital sex. But one thing is certain. It is clear that “youthful lust” was probably in the hearts and mind, and flesh. I could be wrong but my best hunch was that this is what went down.

Today, countless women are waiting for a man to make a move to select them to get married. Then again, there are others that could care less about marriage and they desire to have sex and call it a day. Ultimately, it is the longing in their hearts for what only the Lord could give.

Only the Lord could give true satisfaction.

We do not have to follow the ways of the world to achieve satisfaction. When we do things the way God designed them, we can have it and not have to live in regret for the rest of our lives. The right reason for coming to church is to flow in the plans and purposes of God and let life happen.

The Lord will bring the right one along and when you do it right, for the right reasons, you will see that God was looking out for you all along.
