A man of God on many occasions have asked his audience “Are you fighting against sin?”
In this age where sexual immorality is abounding in many believers, it is no different than asking the question “Do you love the Lord more than your sex sins?”
You can’t love or have both. Just like we can’t love God and money at the same time (see Matthew 6:24).
From the time that you’ve experienced a “wet dream,” or you’ve fondled yourself to orgasm, this fight continues until you gain control over your urges, your thoughts that drive your urges, and your flesh from desiring to fulfill those urges.
It is evident in men and woman that sexuality was a placed in us by God as a gift to be shared in marriage between one man and one woman. Sin changed this. An insatiable desire to have it more and more. And in some cases, many believers desire to have sex with more than one person.
This perversion is not from God.
We all know that it comes from the desires to participate in sexual sin, lurking in our members.
Proverbs 27:20 says “Hell and destruction are never full, so the eyes of a man are never satisfied.”
When Jesus came to Jacob’s well and spoke with the Samaritan woman (John chapter 4), she had five husbands and the one she was with wasn’t her husband.
It is clear in these Scriptures that when a man or woman is out of control, they will “…suppress the truth in unrighteousness” to deceitfully justify masturbation. (see Romans 1:18)
Yes, believers will move from the place of self control to out of control. To engage in sin, a believer must suppress the truth of God’s Word. Take off the armor of light. Leave the Name of the Lord outside the door of darkness, and engage in sin. For the devil demands that you leave righteousness at the door of the den of evil.
The only way a believer can sin is when he takes his armor of light off. You can’t sin with your armor of light on. When a military person wears the uniform, their whole demeanor changes. The mentality changes. When a military person is in conflict, life or death, his or her whole mentality changes. When orders are given, their whole mentality changes.
When we have the armor of light on, our whole mentality changes. We are not the same. Just like the transition from civilian to soldier, sailor, marine, airman takes place after training, so it is in the Spirit.
Everything about us changes.
How much more the believers in the Body of Christ.
In Romans 13:14, Paul said, “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”
When you put on Christ you are putting on the armor.
Romans 13:11-12 “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”
In 1 Corinthians 9:27 “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”
Many of us desire God and His righteousness. But the desire to withstand and withhold ourselves from displeasing God is easily suppressed because the mind is made up to have that which is forbidden.
When a person asks a question about whether masturbation is permitted or prohibited, they already know the answer. If God permitted it, there would be no need to ask if it is permitted. Just like marriage and sex. It is natural for a man and a woman that is married to have sex. There is no need to ask the question.
Just get married and the rest is…………natural.
It’s the areas where there is no Scripture or there seems to be no Scripture where we look for permission.
I believe that Jesus addressed masturbation by not using the word. Just like Jesus, as the Word gave the Word on homosexuality in Leviticus 18 and only mentioned marriage between one man and one woman in Matthew 19:4-5 as the answer regarding prohibiting same sex unions.
Of course homosexuals will argue that Jesus didn’t mention one word about homosexuality. But He did. Remember in John 1, the apostle of the Lamb said that “In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God….”
So because Jesus is the Word of God, and He was in the beginning with God, Jesus gave the Word regarding homosexuality in Leviticus 18. Matthew 19:4-5 further gives evidence that Jesus never changed His mind. Jesus cannot be One with the Father if Jesus disagreed with the Father.
So to say that Jesus never said anything about homosexuality, you have to come up with evidence that Jesus never existed before He became flesh. You would have to come up with irrefutable evidence that the pre-incarnate Jesus didn’t happen.
With masturbation, you have to come up with irrefutable evidence that Jesus permits a man or a woman to masturbate.
The book of Leviticus also speaks of “discharge” or seminal discharge and a man is unclean for 7 days. It never spoke of a man manually stimulating himself to ejaculate. According to Scripture, this gives the appearance of a normal sexual activity between husband and wife, or “wet dreams.”
Now here is the Scripture.
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”
Notice that the Lord mentioned two members that are involved with solo sex.
When you are watching porn, you do not have to be with that person to commit adultery.
Just looking to lust after her flesh is enough to declare that you have committed adultery. But you take things to the next level. You look to “….fulfill the desires of the flesh and the mind.”
You begin to make “….provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.”
Then James 1:15 manifests “…Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full- grown, brings forth death.”
Everyone knows that a man and a woman must use their hands and eyes, or images that appear before us to arouse sexuality.
How does one fight these urges?
Paul said in Romans 6:11-14 “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.”
Hebrews 12:4 says “You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.”
Look back up in Matthew 5:27-30. This is exactly what Jesus meant.
It is a metaphor.
How far are you willing to go to stop yourself from obeying the urge for solo sex?
One moment of pleasure can plunge you straight to hell.
Is it worth it? Is one moment of touching yourself sexually worth going to hell over?
If you do not believe that you can go to hell over this, are you willing to take that chance?
Is the risk worth it?
Some of you believe that the risks outweigh the penalty because “…suppressing the truth in unrighteousness” is deceptive. Remember what Jeremiah 17:9 says.
“The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?”
In light of all this information, the ball is in your court.
You have a decision to make.
Sexual immorality is MOAB, the Mother Of All Battles. Sexual immorality is the Goliath of our times. We will either continue in solo sex bondage, or fight the urge to be and remain free.
A few years ago, I received an alert from the Holy Spirit. He told me not to watch the Super Bowl. I sensed this same urgency this year. Since that first warning, I’ve never watched the Super Bowl again.
I’ve sequestered my heart from sports events because of their association with abrasive sexual immorality in the media world. I am not imposing this upon others that watch sports.
I’m trying not to be legalistic with you but UNGODLY TV is just waiting on your need to be entertained and deliberately plant several sensual seeds into your mind. Jesus said in Matthew 6:22-23…
“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.
But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”
Your eye represent the portal by which evil or good enters.
If what you’re desiring is good or evil, you will look at good or evil.
Then we try to cleanse our minds of the filth and sometimes it’s not as successful. That’s because we try to pray and we can’t get through to God. Like clogged drains, our hearts are muddied with the world.
I know the dangers of pictures well enough to know that it’s a set up to get my heart polluted with the world. The gains that I’ve achieved in the Lord were hard fought gains. I cannot give the devil ground. Ephesians 4:27 says, “Neither give place to the devil.”
Jesus said in John 14:30, “the ruler of this world is coming and he has nothing in me.”
It’s called the zero factor.
If the Bible is true, and I believe it is, we can put a halt to everything that the devil use to do in us. We close off the areas where he was once lord.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says, “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…..”
Temptation is just a suggestion and the Lord will not allow satan “to tempt us beyond that which we are able to resist, but will with the temptation also make a way of escape that we may be able to bear it” according to 1 Corinthians 10:13.
As with all men, football is a right of passage for men and since they’ve really increased the visibility and entertainment aspect of professional football, unbeknownst to us, the other not so well seen activities have increased.
Any city that gets the Super Bowl opens up the door to sexual predators and addicts on every level. With these sports venue, the amount of sexual immorality increases.
Normally, it would be about female prostitutes, but there is no question that male prostitutes are available for homosexuals. Let’s not forget bisexual activity is part of the game.
High end escorts, and other activities and kidnapping, drugs, alcohol, gambling. It’s all interconnected.
For professed believers, they will watch the Super Bowl too.
And of course the Halftime show.
Once again a seductress will be on display.
And professed Christian men will once again be slain at her altar.
Proverbs 7:24-27 “Now therefore, listen to me, my children;
Pay attention to the words of my mouth: Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways, Do not stray into her paths; For she has cast down many wounded, And all who were slain by her were strong men. Her house is the way to hell, Descending to the chambers of death.”
You may not be with her in bed, but your heart and mind is there, and you join with the spirit of the harlot as you masturbate.
Remember what the Lord said about cutting off your hands and plucking out your eyes.
Are we men to abstain from the Super Bowl?
If you love God more than anything, you know what you have to do.
Am I imposing legalism? Am I a “Pharisee?”
In your mind, I know that you are thinking about these things. But let’s look at pleasing the Lord for a moment.
In fact, why don’t you turn on the halftime show and ask the Lord to watch it approvingly with you. Sarcastically, I’m sure the Lord Jesus will give you the thumbs up.
You know good and well that the world is not going to spare your eyes with feminine power. Ladies, we are not berating you. We are opposed to sexual immoral women and men. Everything that is of the world, we must hate it as God hates it.
If you do not hate what God hates and love what God loves, James 4:4 abides on you.
Romans 8 tells us that they that are in the flesh cannot please God. There is no life and peace in the things of the flesh.
Remember what the Lord Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
You do not have to have her physically to be slain by her and descend into hell.
1 John 2:15-17 says “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world —the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life — is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
But these men will watch anyway.
No true love for God and His Word.
They will ignore the warning from the Holy Spirit and be engulfed in lust. They will file these vile images in their minds to masturbate off of later.
Then there will be those that will heed the warning from the Holy Spirit according to Matthew 5:27-28, Romans 13:11-14, 1 Corinthians 10:13, 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, 7:1, James 1:21, Hebrews 12:14, and Job 31:1.
God in heaven, in Jesus’ name, we pray that each man will take heed and cleanse himself from the evil that will be displayed on network TV. That they would abstain from the appearance of evil.
That they would not entertain the temptation of the enemy. But that they would fill their mind with You and Your Word. That each man would learn how to sanctify they hearts.
That they would fight the urge to watch perversion and evil. That they would keep their eyes on You, Lord. That they would not set any wicked thing before their eyes according to Psalm 101:3.

Great article by Rick Warren of Saddleback Church on “How To Have A Fresh Start After Committing Sexual Sin”…..except…..as always, the majority of these articles never bring up the reason for watching pornography.
Masturbation is the Most Unholy Place.
It is The Taboo of Taboo.
Like you have in the temple in the OT patterned after the temple in heaven.
The holy place and then the Most Holy Place
Porn is the unholy place and masturbation is the Most Unholy Place.
Very few address masturbation for a number of reasons. And it is usually because the author and other authors, based on preponderance, MIGHT have been involved.
It is PROBABLE that they are still involved with masturbation.
I could be wrong because I don’t know everything as God does.
It is embarrassing but when you really want to come clean, transparency in this area prevents God from exposing this secret.
Hebrews 4:13 “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.”
So, when I talk about my involvement with porn and masturbation, humbly, I remove the exposing power of God from His hands. I take away His opportunity to tell everyone what I did in secret. God has no story to tell.
When it comes to sexual immorality, this is Psalm 90:8.
Masturbation is the high place that most men and women refuse to destroy.
And they can’t destroy it on their own. It takes the redemptive power of God and the help of others that have either maintained their walk before God, who never fell, or were once involved in masturbation that broke free and maintained their freedom for more than 3 years, and for the rest of their lives.
If you read the books of 1 and 2 Kings, and Chronicles, whenever reform was made, very few would destroy the high place. The reason behind it was that it would be reserved for the exclusive worship of God. Then after the reform ended, they resumed to business as usual.
While Rick Warren’s article has very meaningful steps to address the issue of SECRET SEXUAL SINS, the very thing that keeps a person returning to the high place of masturbation is “no fear of God before their eyes” (see Romans 3:18).
Thank God that the grace of God is there for us when we repent, but what is missing is that when we resume a habit, cycle, or pattern that is not condoned in Scripture, there is no question that what is absent is the “fear of the Lord.”
Ecclesiastes 8:11-13 “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. Though a sinner does evil a hundred times, and his days are prolonged, yet I surely know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before Him. But it will not be well with the wicked; nor will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he does not fear before God.”
We are afraid when we see flashing lights behind us when we are caught speeding or caught with a traffic violation. We are afraid when we lie in court because of perjury and its penalty. We are afraid when we do some crime and the police officer arrests us.
But why is it that we are not afraid when we sin against the Lord?
God gives us space to repent based on His graciousness to reconsider what we are doing and make things right with God.
If we fail to conclude that sex was designed by God between one male and one female in holy matrimony, and that sex outside of this sacred institution is a violation, then it is very easy to take what we’ve declared as God being silent and give ourselves permission.
The Bible is silent on permission and prohibition of masturbation, but because sex is designed by God to be shared between one man and one woman in marriage to become one flesh, the clear conclusion is that masturbation is a sin.
You cannot become one flesh with solo sex.
Your conscience testifies that it is a sin because every person senses in their heart that what they’ve done in secret pierced the heart.
Romans 2:14-16 says “…for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them) in the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.”
Did you get this?
“God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ…”
Tie that with Psalm 90:8 and you have no where to hide, and no reasoning to justify the continuation of masturbation.
So even if you do not have anything written on paper, you show the works of the law written in your hearts, your conscience also bearing witness, and between yourselves your thoughts accusing or else excusing you.
Further proof is when you are looking for a way to continue in masturbation. Just like atheists proves the existence of God, the fact that you’ve asked that this is a sin or not is proof that it is a sin. You are looking for a way to sin just like Adam and Eve. Abiding by God’s established order of sex in marriage between one male and one female ends the reasoning to sin and the argument.
I’ll keep saying it.
NO ONE WATCHES PORN AND DOESN’T ACT OUT SEXUALLY IN ADULTERY, FORNICATION, BISEXUALITY, HOMOSEXUALITY, AND MASTURBATION.
So if we want to please the Lord as Jesus did according to what He said in John 8:29, like Enoch in Hebrews 11:5-6, and like what Paul said in Romans 8:8, that they that are in the flesh cannot please God. So how can we please God? By walking in the Spirit, living by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.
Therefore masturbation is a work of the flesh that disqualifies us from pleasing God in the Spirit.
So to stop the revolving door of masturbation, Rick Warren’s article outlines critical steps, BUT to permanently stop masturbation, the fear of the Lord must be evident.
An accountability partner brings that fear especially when they ask you if you’ve watched porn and masturbated. This is also another thing that is missing in his article.
You cannot watch yourself.
YOU call the shots and make the rules when you declare self accountability.
Many preachers that end up committing adultery hate having the heat on them in personal accountability. It’s right at the point, which is a few weeks after the excitement dies down, that they want to be released from accountability. Their masturbation habits, patterns, and cycles according to Romans 13:11-14 is still “fresh in their flesh.”
The inner discipline was never established to begin with and they are back to touching themselves sexually. They haven’t learned, over time, the disciplines required to forever abstain from masturbation, so it is easy to resume very early after adultery.
That’s why it’s a secret.
Masturbation is the MOST UNHOLY PLACE that men and women do not want to destroy.
As David Wilkerson once said, you have to break covenant with sin.
This stronghold must be dismantled and then removed for good. Then the inner discipline must be established to forever forsake it according to Proverbs 28:13.
So, once again, great article by Rick Warren, however, it is time to be for real about pulling the covers off on what men and women do secretly and expose it according Ephesians 5:8-14.
Otherwise, SECRET SEXUAL SINS will continue.
The Rick Warren article could be read here.
There was an article written by Dr. Michael Brown that shared about a man attending a pastor’s wife’s birthday party. The pastor was the DJ and played worldly secular music with vulgar language.
The wife of the pastor danced to the music, according to the article, as if she were a stripper in a strip club.
I read an article called “The Seamless Fabric” a few years ago and porn, masturbation, strip clubs, prostitution, sex trafficking for the sex trade, child kidnapping, drugs, alcohol, and other things are inseparable. Also porn stars are prostitutes.
The low pay that porn stars receive, between 150 and 350 for 16 hours of work obviously is not enough. These low end porn stars prostitute themselves and get paid within the range of 1000 and 3000 dollars for one hour’s work.
Years ago when I was involved in porn and masturbation, I deliberately deceived myself into thinking that when I did porn that it was disconnected from all the other things listed above.
When I bought PPV porn, I didn’t realize that my 14.99 paid the porn producer, the drugs she may have used on the set to help her cope through the rape scenes, the gas for the vehicles of kidnapers. Everyone gets a piece of the pie when you pay.
You may not think so. When you are so deceived, it is very easy to compartmentalize, trivialize, and separate what you are doing from the crimes committed while attempting to please yourself.
I said all this to get you to see that if the pastor’s wife is acting in this manner, it is clear that her husband may have serious connections to the underworld. In fact, it is possible that they watch porn together. While I do not have facts to back up my claim, based on preponderance, there is a clear possible connection.
I could be wrong.
Today, there are many professed believers that believe that it is perfectly fine to sin because of “grace.”
Grace didn’t deliver you from sin to commit more sin. Grace delivered you as a favor from God to give to you eternal salvation that you do not deserve.
Then grace works in you to abstain from sin (see Romans 6:1).
Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.”
In other words, there is no amount of works that could ever save us. We do not abstain from sin as a work to get into the kingdom. We work righteousness as a result of the Lord giving us the power to abstain.
A lightbulb is powerless until it is placed in the lamp stand with the power turned on.
It can’t work until it is hooked up to power.
Such it is with grace. Our salvation need power that can only come from God. If a lightbulb could work without power, there would be no need to be hooked up.
These pastors and others sin because Romans 3:18 says, “They have no fear of God before their eyes.”
When you have no fear of God before your eyes, it is very easy to say….from Ezekiel 8:12 “Then He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, ‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land.’”
When you deceive yourself into saying that the Lord doesn’t see you, and you are not afraid to sin against God, Ecclesiastes 8:11 says, “Because the sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.”
So because there is no fear of God in the eyes of the pastor and his wife, there is no question that there is no fear of God before the eyes of those that watch porn while God watches you.
There was a time that I had no regard for God and His Word. I preached it but I didn’t live it. In hypocrisy I lived. While I was watching porn and masturbating (because no one watches porn and not masturbate), God was watching with me. If I had any sense, which I didn’t, I could feel the grief of God. But also, I could just only imagine the rage of jealousy in His eyes as another lover consumed me.
I played the harlot. Spiritual adultery. I was unfaithful to God. I allowed another lover to take my heart.
Upon reading this title, some of you probably thought that God approves. We are all human and he understands our flesh. They were just having fun at a party. It’s just a party. Don’t we have a right to party?
What a poor excuse.
When you cast of restraint, the church loses its testimony as a house of righteousness and holiness.
Proverbs 29:18 says “Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.”
The Amplified Bible says. “Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man] —blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he.”
The same thing happened at Shiloh. The ark of the covenant was taken, God uses Eli’s weight to kill him, Hophni and Phinehas committed sexual immorality and lost their lives in battle, Phinehas’ wife gives birth to Ichabod and dies during child birth.
The glory departed.
The eyes of Eli grew dim and it was indicative of this Scripture…..1 Samuel 3:1-3a “And the child Samuel ministered unto the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was precious in those days; there was no open vision. And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was…”
When people can’t see or when people refuse to see because they cast off restraint, the light goes out. Eli was a leader and if the leader can’t see, the people can’t see either. Or if the leader refuses to see, the people will refuse to see too.
This is self deception that suppresses the knowledge of the truth. As I read the article, many will read into this and feel outraged that a pastor and his wife would do such a thing. But one thing that I’ve noticed is that while there was some words addressing the grace of God and other issues, the one thing that was missing, and I could be wrong, was the lack of the fear of God.
No one is afraid of God any more.
I understand that it is easy to apply “legalism” to this statement about the fear of God but look very carefully at the time Israel provoked the Lord and you will see the hot displeasure of the Lord.
Fast forward this into the NT, and we do not see the hot displeasure of the Lord except with Ananias and Sapphira. We also see this with Herod when he was eaten of worms. Then there is Elymas the sorcerer that was blinded for withstanding the gospel. In each instance, “great fear” came upon the believers.
In 1 Corinthians 11, Paul mentioned about taking communion unworthily or in the wrong manner, and that all who do so end up “sick, weak, and fall asleep,” because they didn’t “judge themselves.”
In this dispensation of grace, we see that the Lord is still serious about the fear of the Lord. Look at the book of Revelation and we will see that in chapters 1 through 3, the Lord is still dealing with the church when 5 of 7 churches allowed certain worldly doctrines to infiltrate the “called out ones.”
There is only one reason why false doctrine infiltrates the church.
No fear of God.
We begin to teach strange doctrine that Paul warned us about in Galatians chapter 1, Acts 20, and 1 Timothy 1.
In 1 Corinthians Paul turns over a member of the church to satan for the destruction of the flesh that they may be saved because this man had his father’s wife. An incestuous relationship not even heard of in the world and it happened in the church. Paul does it again in 2 Timothy to those that blasphemed so that people would be afraid to sin against the Lord because two men brought in a cancerous doctrine.
Paul also said to Timothy to rebuke the elders that sin so that others would be afraid to sin.
Clearly, these doctrines are missing today because there is no fear of God before our eyes.
In the same manner, when it comes to sexual sins, we “invent” doctrines to either justify and or permit our indulgence in the sins we, as the late pastor David Wilkerson would say, “made a covenant with.”
Making a covenant with sins demands that you either suppress the truth of the Scriptures or use a perverted twist of the Scriptures to continue in sin.
Covenant with sin demands that you walk into the house of the Lord without any fear to commit sin. That’s why it is easy for pastors, and their wives to have these lewd parties.
Romans 13:13 “Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.”
The sad thing is that there were probably members of the church that were there. According to this article, other pastors and their wives were there. There is no question about 2 Peter 3:3-4 “…knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”
They are not ready for the coming of the Lord. They are scoffers or mockers that mock the coming of the Lord.
Matthew 24:43-44 says “But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
And that’s where there is an absence of the fear of the Lord. They do not think that Jesus is coming back, so they begin to live riotously.
Matthew 24:48-51 “But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
We pray that they would repent and return to the Lord. To produce godly sorrow for grieving the Lord. To come back to obedience to the faith before the Lord returns.
The story about the pastor and his wife could be read here.
In John chapter 5, the man at the pool of Bethesda was the only person healed by the Lord Jesus. Later on, the Lord said to him “Go, and sin no more lest a worst thing come upon you.”
The man that was healed was in his condition for 38 years. He couldn’t walk. For the Lord Jesus to tell him to “go and sin no more” is an indication or a blatant statement that sin opened the door for his inability to walk.
Before I continue, there are many books, statements, and comments that state that the Bible said nothing, PROHIBITING masturbation.
The Bible said nothing PERMITTING masturbating either.
You know that.
Sex was established by the Lord between one male and one female in matrimony. Genesis 2:21-25, Matthew 19:4-5, 1 Corinthians 6:15-18, 7:1-9, and Ephesians 5:31.
You will also note that no proponents of masturbation will quote any Scriptures to justify masturbation.
So any sex outside of these Scriptures is called “sexual immorality.”
In subsequent posts, I asked the question as to why we feel we have done wrong after masturbation.
The answer is simple.
The conscience witnessed to you that you have violated the Word of God. The passages of Scripture above, and others witnessed to you that you have violated the Word of God. The instinctive thing to do is to suppress this feeling with the deception of fulfilling a need.
There are other things that we use to excuse ourselves and suppress the truth. In any case, no matter what you use to suppress the truth, it is in an effort to continue in sin.
In the passage that Paul shared about sex in 1 Corinthians 7:1-9, notice that Paul shared about “self control.”
Which means that if you are not married, you must exercise self control. Meaning that you have to control your “urges and impulses.”
Romans 6:12-13 “Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.”
Romans 6:19 “I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.”
When it comes to masturbation, there is no self control. It is lust being fulfilled. Masturbation is a sex act with one person.
You are manually stimulating yourself to ejaculate and to experience an orgasm by yourself. You are “presenting your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness.”
Notice the word “uncleanness.”
Matthew 12:43-45 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came. ‘And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”
You won’t believe me so let’s look at the actual Greek word of “unclean and uncleanness.”
Both from Strong’s Concordance.
“g0169. ἀκάθαρτος akathartos; from 1 (as a negative particle) and a presumed derivative of 2508 (meaning cleansed); impure (ceremonially, morally (lewd) or specially, (demonic)):— foul, unclean.
AV (30)- unclean 28, foul 2; not cleansed, unclean in a ceremonial sense: that which must be abstained from according to the levitical law in a moral sense: unclean in thought and life.”
Let’s look at the word “uncleanness” in Romans 6:19.
“g0167. ἀκαθαρσία akatharsia; from 169; impurity (the quality), physically or morally:— uncleanness. AV (10)- uncleanness 10; uncleanness physical in a moral sense: the impurity of lustful, luxurious, profligate living of impure motives.”
So it is clear that the same or similar word and definition is speaking volumes that unclean spirits drive uncleanness operating in the world.
Mark 1:23 “Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are —the Holy One of God!” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the unclean spirit had convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. hen they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him.” And immediately His fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee.”
What do unclean spirits do in people?
There is no question in my mind that this passages speaks of people doing unclean things. No question that unclean things has everything to do with sexual immorality.
Look no further than the criminal world with sexual predators on one level. On the other level there are those that do lewd acts at home, strip clubs, sex clubs, and other places where sexual immorality is happening.
Demons on every level are in operation, including masturbation.
Do you mean to tell me that I am “demon possessed” when I masturbate?
When you are dealing with sexual immorality, you are giving yourself over to the fulfilling of the flesh and body. Remember what Paul said.
“…presenting your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness.”
Lawlessness doesn’t come from the Lord. Lawlessness comes from the devil. You have to come out from under the power of God to come under the power of the devil.
Some of you may recall an incident I shared when I was waiting for the next train to Croton Harmon in New York, on the Hudson Line. I was at Tarrytown as the train entered the station and a Black man was on the overpass that leads from Tracks 2 & 4 to Tracks 1 & 3.
He was masturbating.
There was no question that he was possessed.
This is called “exhibitionism.” This is when a person is committing a lewd sexual act in public.
We all know that full possession takes place when you give yourself over to the full array and control of demon power. When it comes to temptation to sin, the temptation comes from the devil as a suggestion. According to James 1:14-15, you fulfill sin. On this level, it is NOT demon possession.
It is obedience to demon power to commit sin. Some will say that they do not understand the difference.
When it comes to committing sin, it all depends on how far you are willing to go. In any level, there is demon power in operation but we all know that there are certain levels that exhibit certain manifestations that clearly indicate demon power.
If you find yourself going deeper into sexual immorality. Another words, doing things that require more “submission,” there is no question that you are entertaining more suggestions to receive a euphoric aspect of sexual fulfillment or satisfaction.
Recently, (December 2015), I was watching the late David Wilkerson who pastored Times Square Church in NYC, minister along the lines of lust, pornography, and perversion.
Not once did he mention the word “masturbation.”
When you are dealing with the area of pornography, masturbation is a part of the process. I am not blaming pastor Wilkerson for not mentioning this aspect because I believe that at the time he shared what he shared, everyone assumed that masturbation was assumed to be a part of the message.
Even today, there are many preachers that only mention the filth of porn but few will mention the act that is always associated with porn. This is where men are true slaves to themselves in masturbation. They can’t free themselves from porn because they are enslaved to masturbation.
They can give up porn like I did, and remember the images so well that buying or viewing porn isn’t necessary. That’s what happened in 2008. I gave up porn but I had porn “in my head” as one pastor said to me.
It would be 2009 that I would give up masturbation for 3.5 years. Then relapse came into my life and that’s when the Lord said to me this year early 2015 that I have to put together everything that I have learned otherwise I am still a hypocrite.
I also had to put in my mind that I grieved and offended God. I also have to remember that at anytime, the Lord could require my soul. Where would it be if sin were in my life at the moment He calls for my soul?
Or if the rapture would take place (I know there may be different beliefs about the rapture so just bear with me please), would I catch the first flight or would I be left behind?
I was unwilling to take that chance and I’ve been fighting ever since to stay clean and pure in His sight. At all times. I had to give up the arguments and reasonings to selfishly justify masturbation. Such arguments, reasoning, and self justification will always lack Scriptural authority.
When I deal with this area of porn, I always state that no one watches porn and not act out sexually in masturbation, adultery, fornication, bisexuality, homosexuality, or bestiality.
It’s all a part of this world of sex outside of the Biblically established pattern of marriage between one man and one woman.
A lot of men and some women will state that regular sex is not enough.
That extra stimulation is needed to obtain satisfaction. But as I have stated before, it is outside the norms of marriage and connected to sexual immorality. That’s why your conscience is bothered because the God that dwells in us is offended.
You can go and sin no more.
As 2015 comes to a close, many have put a close to this year and they are looking forward to 2016. The toughest resolution is the resolution to exercise. Many failures occur just after the first week, but without a doubt, there is a resolution much tougher than dieting and exercising.
Ending porn and masturbation in your life.
Will you put an end to porn and masturbation?
This is not high on the “to do” list of resolutions for 2016.
Women and men are struggling to climb out of the slimy pit of porn and masturbation.
They have made a decision to go cold turkey but all of a sudden, the urges and impulses return.
The eyes and hands travel.
Habits, cycles, and patterns return and it’s worse than before.
Galatians 5:22 talks about the fruit of the Spirit called “self control.”
The parable of the sower in Luke 8 reveals the place where many are when it comes to sexual immorality. When people make a clean break from porn and solo sex, the body is adjusting to sexual normalcy.
Dr. Mark Laaser calls is “sexual sobriety.”
Depending on how you desire to be free and remain free determines the outcome.
Many men and women receive the Word regarding sexual immorality freedom and then the tempter comes. Or, we open ourselves up to temptation by watching certain shows that has sexuality in it. Or our eyes travel to sexually look at another person.
Luke 8:13 “But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.”
Notice “who believe for a while….”
The Greek gives the impression that it was a very short period of time. Most believers would hold out and that’s where the struggle begins. You renege on a promise to abstain and the enemy or even our own minds decide to meditate on what was left behind at the altar.
Our lusts of the flesh and mind.
In studying “Way To Purity” from Setting Captives Free from Mike Cleveland, the course shared several times about “radical amputation” from what Jesus shared in Matthew 5:29-30 that “If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”
And Hebrews 12:4 “You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.”
How radical are you willing to go?
Sell your computer? Oh, but you have your iPhone or other small devices to view deliberately or by accidental glance at sexual objects intentionally attached to catch your eye.
How radical are you willing to go?
Throw away your cable or satellite subscription? Disconnect the TV. Discontinue going to the movies, purchasing DVD with sexual themes, avoid sports when the commercials of sexually provocative women are paraded before your eyes? Stop watching the News because you know, like on FOX News, they have women dressed for the club on their shows? Or certain talk shows where certain A movie stars will be on the show to look at?
How radical are you willing to go?
Paul shared about mortifying the deeds of the flesh in Colossians 3:5… “Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.”
Are you willing to execute everything to please the Lord?
And James and Peter shared these powerful words.
James 4:7 “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
1 Peter 4:8-9b “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith…”
Make this your verse of Scripture to live by for 2016 and for the rest of your life, or until Jesus comes, which ever comes first.
1 John 5:18 “We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.”
This is not impossible as it has much to do with your determination to live free of the flesh. The work on the cross of Jesus made this possible.
By the grace and help of the Helper, Comforter, Standby, and Counselor, and through strict obedience to the Word of God, you can turn this resolution into an everlasting promise keeping maintenance where “…the wicked one does not touch…” you.
A NEW STD IS AMONG US
MG it’s called.
Actually, according to the report, the disease has been around since the 1980’s and is curable. It’s one of the “pests” of sex that people wish would not happen.
Whenever a report on STDs comes out, it it clear that more people are infected and that they anticipate that more infections will be reported.
The one thing that I read is that they’ve tested 200 teens that were not sexually active and found that they all tested NEGATIVE for the disease.
At the end of the report, they stressed condoms.
Wait a minute……
Did anyone catch this?
If you are not sexually active, it means that you have no need for condoms, which proves one thing.
Psalm 107:17 says “Fools! Because of their transgressions and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.”
You may be insulted but according to Psalm 107:17, people are still acting like a fool. According to the Lord God in Genesis chapter 2, sex is reserved for married people, one man and one woman. Sexually transmitted diseases are designed to reinforce what God ordained.
When there is sex outside of this God ordained institution it carries a carries a consequential judgment. A penalty.
Should people die in their sins, Revelation 21:8 tells us that the “sexually immoral” will be cast into the lake which burns with fire and brimstone forever.
Remember. God created us in His image. His highest attribute is “HOLY.”
Sin is opposite of righteousness, holiness, and purity.
Since God created us, He makes the rules. When man violates His rules, there is a moral penalty applied.
Just like when we are driving and the cop or trooper pulls us over for speeding or other traffic violations, we are assessed a penalty.
Just like when we commit a crime, we are arrested, tried in court, and should we be found guilty, we do time in prison.
Did you just see the difference?
Illegal sex is like a traffic violation and the STD was the penalty.
The crime of an unrepentant life demands eternal prison time.
Many will say that this is not fair, that we should be able to do as we please.
Revelation 4:11 “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
God placed within this life all of the benefits of life provide that we follow what He said. When we do something apart from what He said, God demands justice. Remember, He is holy, righteous, full of compassion, love, mercy, and truth.
If God didn’t love us, He would never give us a chance.
In truth, and because He is holy and just, the Lord God judges us.
Without this eternal righteous standard, there wouldn’t be an incentive to repent, receive salvation, and obey His Word to live holy. The fact that the Lord gives us a chance to repent tells us that this is MORE THAN FAIR.
Especially in light of the fact that the Father demonstrated His love for us by sending His Son to die for our sins to completely pay our debt.
Notice Romans 5:8-9. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.”
Many people have failed. This author included, but because of His mercy and compassion, He gives us all another chance, not a second chance because every one of us blew away that second chance.
We accept by grace through faith the gift of salvation to avoid the wrath of God. The STD is not the wrath of God. Should you die without Christ, hell, and then the lake which burns with fire and brimstone is the eternal wrath of God.
Believe me when I tell you, the tribulation period is also the wrath of God, poured out on the earth, but it pales in comparison to the eternal wrath of God for which there will be no relief.
Remember. God created us and He can do justly as He wishes.
Perhaps you are reading this and wonder if the Lord would forgive you for continuously blowing it. As the late David Wilkerson said, “sin and confess, sin and confess.”
That’s a merry go round that we need to stop. The constant cycle of guilt and remorse must come to a halt. God knows what’s best for us.
If we want sex, we must get married first.
Many want the benefits and gifts of marriage without actually getting married. That’s not how it works and you know it. Sex outside of marriage is destructive. It’s dangerous. It carries more woe for man and woman than imagined. Worse of all, it keeps you in bondage to sin as it’s slave.
Ask one slave if he or she ever loved being a slave.
They will truthfully answer that they wished that they were free.
Jesus can make you free indeed after you come to the knowledge of the truth.
Do you want to be free?
It’s up to you. The Lord Jesus suffered the penalty for every man and was imprisoned in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights to appease the just and righteous demands of the Holy and Righteous God.
All the hard work was done by Jesus to free you. You get to do the easy part.
Repent and abstain for the rest of your life until you get married.
Sadly, a lot of people will not listen. The other sad thing is that people, including me, thought that when we would get married that all of the sexual triggers, desires, urges and impulses would be satisfied.
To be able to have sex all of the time is a fantasy. We are still permitted to have sex with our married opposite sexed partner, but there’s a lot of dynamics that must be factored.
Timing and making time for sex. Work. Children. Emotion state of each other. Financial well being, and other issues makes it very challenging to have sex. This is another reason why many married people engage in the extracurricular activity of masturbation.
You could be in the heat of the moment but your partner is sick, not at home, went to bed early, emotionally detached from you because of personal issues, and a host of other reasons.
Even masturbation is out of bounds because God designed sex to be shared between two married persons of the opposite sex. Which means the fruit of the Spirit called “self control” must be employed until you can come together to have sex.
So the rule still exists and there is nothing that you or anyone else could do about it. Congress, the president, and SCOTUS can’t legislate against God’s ordinance to draft and pass a law to stop STD’s from occurring.
The lie of “safe sex” will not help.
Safe sex is a myth. The only safe sex is married, one male, one female for life, or abstinence. Condoms circumvent the Word of God and you know it. This is called “suppress the truth in unrighteousness.”
In other words, they hold down the truth so that it would not try to convict them. But when the truth is released, man is powerless to stop the convicting power of the Holy Spirit in the Word of God.
And even if you use a condom, there is always the possibility of a failure, leakage, or other common missteps. Because of the desire for full satisfaction, condom-less unlawful sex.
Sex is for married couples of the opposite sex.
Sexual immorality carries a consequential penalty and an eternal penalty should people remain unrepentant. God offers forgiveness and healing when we repent and place our full faith and trust in the salvation provided through the sacrificial life, death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
