The Original Purpose Of Halloween

You might be asking….”What does Halloween have to do with Secret Sexual Sins?”

Well not much but when you are dealing with a pagan day, sexual immorality is sometime associated. In reading from Wikipedia about the origins of Halloween, we see that Western influence is driving the intent.

After almost every sentence, they seem to imply these words “Christian” to imply that the day has some sort of influence from followers of Christ, or if we are not careful, Christ Himself. It is important to understand that all demonic influences will attempt to mix Jesus in things so that it gives the appearance that it is safe to follow.

Growing up as a kid, my parents would follow suit and buy us costumes, candy, and we would participate at home to have our own party. We would watch horror shows and be scared at night. Definitely Jesus was not in this at all.

In studying this out, the pagan ritual was more about honoring the dead saints. Those that went into eternity. But we also learn that in most cases, they that dealt with these festivities believed that they were on their way to heaven and didn’t get there yet. Like they were in limbo, so the people that participated in this pagan ritual would pray for the dead to make it.

Well, that’s not the truth about what The Lord had done according to the Word of God.

There is no limbo or purgatory. Either you were born again by the Holy Spirit after repenting of sin and receiving forgiveness of sins, or you died and went to hell.

“He that believes and is baptized shall be saved, he that does not believe shall be condemned.” Mark 16:16

There is no way around the Word of God. It’s not a matter of interpretation either. Either you believe or you do not believe. In addition to believing, The Lord Jesus said, “You must be born again.” And He also said, “Repent! For the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Psalm 119:89 says, “Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven.”

So now that getting into heaven is settled, we can now proceed to other issues.

So this pagan ritual was never a Christian event. It was all along a deft way of instituting a pagan ritual with a blatant attempt to call it “Christian.”

So where did the “costumes” come into play?

GLAD YOU ASKED!

But before that, in the 19th Century, “candles would be lit and prayers formally offered for the souls of the dead. After this the eating, drinking, and games would begin.” This originated in Ireland. They would also deal with “divination.” “The households festivities included rituals and games intended to divine’s one’s future, especially regarding death and marriage. Nuts and apples were often used in these divinations rituals.”

Bonfires were about “protective and cleansing powers, and were used for divination.”

Now the costumes.

In 16th century Ireland, Scotland, Mann and Wales, “the festival included mumming and guising.” This involved people going house to house in costume (or in disguise), usually reciting verses or songs in exchange for food…in Scotland, youths went house to house on 31 October with masked, painted or blackened faces, often threatening to do mischief if they were not welcomes.

Sounds like trick or treat,” doesn’t it?

In the late 19th and early 20th century, young people in Glamorgan and Orkney dressed as the opposite gender…..”

We all know that dressing as the opposite gender is a direct violation of Deuteronomy 22:5 and is also directly connected to transgender or transvestite issues, which is directly connected to the sin of homosexuality.

Additionally, “”F. Marian McNeill suggests the ancient festival included people in costume representing the spirits, and that faces were marked (or blackened) with ashes taken from the sacred bonfire. In parts of Wales, men went about dressed as fearsome beings called “gwrachod.”

So there you have the costume connection to Sexual Immorality.

While it was never stated that they engaged in homosexual acts, it is clear that anytime you cross dress, it has everything to do with gender misidentification.

The Lord shared with me that there is nothing that the devil does that will be redeemed. The only thing that can be redeemed by God is the human spirit because God created man in His image. According to 1 Thessalonians 5:23, we are a tripartite being. God breathed into us our spirits, He gave us a soul, or mind, and He placed our spirit and soul in a body or container.

It is through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross that we are redeemed. Everything that the devil does is not redeemable. It must perish. When we attempt to put on a “Christian” costume, we are taking something from the devil and make a very silly attempt to redeem a pagan ritual that involves demon spirits. Necromancy is also involved. Necromancy is about communicating with the dead. When we dress as characters, whether in the Bible or not, we are attempting to take on their spirit.

Putting on a costume, masks, disguises and such is a form of hypocrisy. You are putting aside your true identity to get into their identity. I am just as guilty because in ignorance, I attempted to redeem a demonic institution by having our daughter and children at  Prevailing Word wear Christian themed costumes.

There is nothing that could be done to redeem something of the devil.

So when you see tattoos, cross dressing, transvestite, transgender, body piercing, and other body mutilations, it’s an identity crisis where a person discards their weakness to assume a character of strength.

Read Ephesians 6:10 and Colossians 1:27.

So devils are conjured up and we wonder why folk are messed up. Our children are messed up. And we fail to understand that the devil is a liar and the father of lies. There is no truth in him.

You may say that you see no harm. You are entitled to your Bible-less opinion. Most people that profess to know Him usually do not know their Bibles and will spend good money looking and acting like someone that is dead or never existed. Money that they could have used to put more food on the plate at home, pay some bills, etc.

Nope, they would rather follow devils than follow God.

Read 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.

Stop trying to save face and accept the truth. Repent and leave this demonic stuff alone. There is no redeeming of this pagan ritual. So save your money, get saved, and live by the Word of God.
