It’s not just in Black people that go to these spiritual spooks. Almost all races are cursed with false profits. It’s not a misspell.
Many of you perhaps have fallen under the spell of false prophets.
As I was watching Brian Carn on The Word Network several months ago, he was on TV praying over “holy water.”
Folks, there is no water on earth that is holy. There is no power in water except where Dams have been built to harness its power to provide electricity for cities.
False prophets are counting on your stupidity and mock you at the end of the day.
When you hear spooky things like this, mixed with spiritually spooky music, it’s a signal to everyone to clear the building. But sadly, folk will stay in their seats and fork over thousands, perhaps even millions of dollars.
Proverbs 14:15 says “The simple believes every word, but the prudent considers well his steps.”
The word “simple” also means gullible.
Proverbs 22:3 says “A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished.”
A fish will get caught for the frying pan only once but we have many who are the same fish in the Body of Christ that were caught many times. It’s not a rerun or a rewind. Over time they show up at these places, get that feeling, and then get duped, over and over again.
Several years ago, I was with my wife at the invitation of a friend, attending Michael Freeman’s Leadership Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.
At the beginning, each of us paid $124 to attend the conference. I understand, to a certain extent, that you have to cover overhead costs for meetings. As long as it is reasonable. Especially if you are traveling long distances.
There are many pastors that feel the need to go to these conferences. My preference is that I don’t feel the need. If you desire to go, that’s your preference. So we do not need to condemn each other for going or not going.
As Paul said “Let each one be convinced in their own heart.”
However, I am finding that such leadership meetings are not all that necessary for me.
If you haven’t learned to be led by the Holy Spirit by now, you have no business leading others. Especially when you can’t hear God for yourself. And it’s no wonder you can’t hear from God. If you have a life of prayer in unbroken fellowship, eliminating or significantly reducing TV and Internet clutter, keeping yourself from known sexual and other sins, you should be able to hear from God regularly.
At the conclusion of Freeman’s Conference, they started to take up an offering for Michael Freeman. Literally thousands of dollars (received 5 figures at the end of it all) were flying all over the place.
I don’t remember anything significant that was taught there at Freeman’s Leadership Conference to this day. Usually, things stick out or sticks to the ribs of your spirit when you go to certain places that you will remember for years to come.
Instinctively, I smelled a BIG RAT.
I have to disclose that Michael Freeman didn’t initiate the taking up of the offering. It was initiated by other ministers potentially close or perhaps under his association as a covering under Michael Freeman’s ministry.
Michael Freeman never stopped them from giving.
Sadly, I observed the smile on his face. It wasn’t an “I’m flattered” kind of smile.
When you are associated, it is almost normal to watch the money fly.
Another reason why I don’t do church the way that people want you to do church.
I didn’t give another dime that day.
I paid $124 and that was all I was going to give.
It was the easiest personal payday Freeman probably ever had.
Folks, you are not obligated to give more than what is on your heart and as directed by the Lord. Plus, you have to guard your emotions. Emotional giving can ruin you. It is unfortunate that you get swayed to give more than what the Lord placed on your heart.
It’s worse when false preachers, pastors, prophets and teachers take advantage of moments that are emotionally high and drive people to empty their pockets, pocket books, and bank accounts.
Why does this happen?
The Body of Christ has the “spirit of covetousness” abiding in the hearts of many believers.
The false doctrine of the prosperity gospel opened the door for this mess.
Luke 12:15-21 is very clear. Colossians 3:5-7 is clear.
But very few in the Body of Christ is listening to and obeying the Word of God.
On the other hand, there are many sincere, genuine believers that is looking to the Lord for help.
Sometimes the help that they need is critical. Like a person dying of a terminal disease, severe financial hardships, loss of jobs, and other crisis situations.
The Bible is filled with many answers but the Body is full of false profits. It’s a correct spelling. A real prophet of God would never look to take advantage of anyone’s situation. In fact, every time God moves on our behalf, it’s an act of His goodness and graciousness.
Why would a man or woman proceed to “prophe-lie” over a person for financial gain?
Because they are filled with the devil and they are only looking to gain from your misfortune.
Just like the world does to its own. You buy a product and it fails. Or it never performs as advertised. In complete despair and disappointment, their condition is left unresolved.
This is one of the many reasons why people do not trust God because of false prophets that are misfits. In a very modest estimation, many of these false prophets are involved in some form of sexual immorality. Look at what Peter said.
2 Peter 2:1-3 “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction.
And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.”
2 Peter 2:12-17 “But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime.
They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children.
They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man’s voice restrained the madness of the prophet.
These are wells without water, clouds carried by a tempest, for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.”
When you see “…eyes full of adultery and cannot cease from sin…”
You need to look down where Peter mentioned “following the ways of Balaam….”
Look at what Jesus said to John to the church at Pergamos.
Revelation 2:14-16 “But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.
Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.”
Balaam was a double agent.
He found a way to get God to be against Israel by teaching a doctrine. Read closely Numbers chapters 19 through 23, and you will see that sexual immorality was taught by Balaam.
This is not to say that in this incident that you will read at the conclusion of this article that this individual was also teaching sexual immorality, but for the most part, many false prophets make the teaching of sexual immorality a part of their lives, whether secret or public.
Regarding Israel Houghton, it is clear that his adulterous relationship while ministering as worship leader at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church does have transference of spirits involved.
Whether there was any other adulterous relationship in operation or not, may not be the case. But look closely at 1 Corinthians chapters 5 through 7 and you will see that sexual immorality was operating in the house of worship. In the church at Ephesus, Paul had to address sexual immorality in the 5th chapter of Ephesians. In 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul again mentions sexual immorality. In Romans 13, Paul addresses sexual immorality.
Therefore, the conclusion is clear that in most cases, but not in all, sexual immorality tends to be a close running mate to deceptive practices of false prophets.
If only people could stop being stupid and firmly put their trust only in the Lord and God’s Word.
Circumstances and situations do happen. Storms come.
Jesus warned that false prophets would arise to deceive many (see Matthew 24:23-28).
It’s a clear sign of the end times that indicate that the coming of the Lord is nearer than we first thought.
Let’s get our heads out of the sand that keep our eyes open.
Learn to go to the Lord and never put your trust in man (see Jeremiah 17:5-10).
