The Day After Election Day; What Was Really Accomplished?

A lot of heads are hanging. Some have even shed tears about the future of this nation.

But in many states, jubilation.

The one thing that struck me is that when sin is permitted, and there is jubilation over the righteous, it is an ominous sign that these are the last days.

So, what was really accomplished?

Many that professed to believe in Christ went crosswise of the Word and suppressed the truth to vote for Barack Obama or for Mitt Romney.

Sadly, many that voted against the president were disappointed.

Many evangelicals thought that by voting for Mitt Romney, a devote Mormon, sort of, kind of endorsed by Reverend Billy Graham, that America would see some of the things enacted by President Obama reversed. While the election count was not a mandate in the popular vote, the Electoral College vote makes it seems like there is a mandate on the Democratic agenda.

If you take a good look, this election wasn’t just about the re-election of President Barack Obama.

Behind the scenes, we have seen three states affirm gay marriage, marijuana legalized, and condoms to be used on porn sets to protect against STDs and HIV/AIDS. It’s not an opinion. It is a fact that all condom use circumvents the consequential judgment attached to the sin of fornication and adultery. The secondary use of condoms is to prevent conception, thus fostering the climate for sexual perversion.

Note what the Lord Jesus said about adultery and fornication in Matthew 17:19,

“For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”

This is the same Jesus that the world seeks to worship but stay in sin. This is the same Jesus that the world wants the church to be like. But the way the world wants the church to be like is completely different from what Jesus said in His Word what His church is to be like.

I think it was Ghandi that said, “We do not have a problem with Christ. We have a problem with you Christians.”

If we who believe in Christ is adhering to the teaching of Christ in following the Word of God about deliverance from sin and living holy lives, then it is not we that is the problem.

It is you.

We cannot help but testify of the overcoming power of the blood of Jesus and the deliverance from the power and guilt of sin.

Besides, the world can’t tell believers how we are to be like.

John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:”

To believe on His name is confirmed when you do what He says.

For the Lord Jesus said, in Matthew 7:21-23…..

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? ’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!”

John further confirms a true adherent of the Lord when he said this in 1 John 5:3…..

“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not grievous.”

The church has “One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. One God, and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”

But the Father is not the Father of sinners. The devil is the father of all sinners.

Notice what Paul said in Ephesians 2:2-3….

“…in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.”</strong>

So their spiritual nature dictates what the mind and flesh does, in obedience to the spirit that works in the children of disobedience.

This is also called “the law of sin and death” (see Romans 8:1-2).

The world wants the church to be tolerant of sin. In what the Lord Jesus said, there is no tolerance of sin. In what the Lord said here, He identifies the source of all sin.

The heart.

Notice what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10……

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”

This is just to remind all who intend to sin that the world doesn’t own God. And the world doesn’t own the child of God. And the world doesn’t have a right to dictate to the true believers of the Lord Jesus Christ what we are to believe, how we are to believe, and to keep silence.

On the contrary, we will continue to shout it from the house tops. We will not flinch nor fail in our responsibility of living and preaching the unadulterated gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. And we will not speak in hatred. We will not act unbecoming of a child of God. We do not hate sinners. We do not despise the unrighteous.

Our fight is against those that stand against against the truth. No matter what practicing homosexual or lesbian groups have in store in terms of their agenda. No matter those that affirm or assent to the sins of fornication, adultery, and bisexuality. We know the source of these vile passions. They are demonically and diabolically inspired.

Therefore, we hate the devil and his demons. We hate the evil one. We hate the devil with perfect hatred.

Paul said, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, and against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the heavenly places.”

This is a spiritual warfare that requires that the church, under the direction of the Head of the Church to wage with the weapons of our warfare which are mighty in God to the pulling down of strongholds. Casting down reasonings and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God.

You can write up all the laws for sin you want. We are in the last days and the Lord already set in motion the end of it all. The world has no control over the throne of God, and they, sure enough, do not have control over the God who sits upon the throne.

MIGHTY IS OUR GOD!

At His own time and choosing, He will bring this all to an end.

So for those that are still trying to make sense of this past election, just know that the Lord was never caught off guard.

The events that are present, and before us must surely come to pass.

Remember. These are the days of Noah and Lot. We all know what happened in those days. Just read Luke 17. We know that the church will continue to lose its influence because we live and love sin so much more than the Lord.

Yet, there is a remnant that will not bow their knee to Baal, or the devil.

We will not let man dictate to the church what the church is to do or believe. The world doesn’t dictate to the Head of the Church. Now, mind you that the world and the devil would love to get rid of the church. That can’t happen because the devil can’t do anything about the true believers in the church. He can only sit there and watch like a spoiled brat.

I remember that I am the Lord’s child before I am an American, and before I am a Black man.

As a born again child of God, my future in Christ is eternally secure. So my head never hung after the election count came in. While watching the election, there was no doubt about the outcome. When you have inside information from the throne of God, you never sigh.

That’s why I love the Lord and keep His commandments. I am a doer of the Word and not a hearer only.

As far as the rest of the church that is straddling the fence, they love to sound like they are so close to the Lord but when you look at what is really going on in your life, your testimony may be shallow at best. People cannot actually discern the difference of Christ in your life. The way you talk, text, watch TV, speak crudely and cruelly. There is no love for the brothers and sisters in the Lord.

The spirit of apostasy will take out more “so called” saints. They will walk away from the Lord because they do not know how to endure to the end. They will contend with the Bible and the true saints of God. They will reason their way over the Word to continue in sin. They are on the fumes of grace. Some are on the fumes of mercy. Many, sadly, are living like the foolish virgins. Spending all their money on other things and like before, they will look to bum oil for their lamps off the wise virgins.

But I got news for you. You’ve bummed oil for the last time.

For the true church, let’s get back to being busy for the Lord. We’ve worried too much about America, not realizing that America is just a country that we believers in Christ occupy temporarily. We must remember that the course is set and there is nothing that we could do to alter what must come to pass.

We must remember that we are ambassadors for the Lord. The local church is His embassy. We are here, journeying through. While we are on this journey, we try to win as many as we can to the Lord, for physical death, should Christ tarry, is inevitable. The judgment soon to follow.

We must remember that when we are trying to save a nation, we must ask a the question….“Why?”

Isn’t the task before us to make disciples from these nations?Have we forgotten the first and only job of the church is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation. We have taken a page out of the apostles in asking Jesus if He is going to establish a kingdom and pull the Jews out from Roman dominance. In all actually, the Christians are looking to change the politics so that we can have our bed of ease and not confront the sin in and outside the church.

My… have we forgotten Daniel’s prophesy about the last empire and the everlasting empire that cannot and will not ever be destroyed?

If we really look at it. Are we trying to prevent what must come to pass or are we putting patriotism over Christianity? Are we directly interfering with the etched in eternity plan of God for America? Like Nineveh, perhaps we might repent like Nineveh. They repented. The whole nation in sackcloth and ashes, with fasting, but they were eventually destroyed. Or are we trying to save our culture from the inevitable? It’s the same with the prosperity message. Are we duping ourselves into thinking that the economic events of our times is just for a short season or is it judgment on the monetary system because of covetousness?

Then when you really look at it, why is the church so impotent when given the opportunity to be a solid testimony to the world, and our modern day prominent preachers are wimpy and live compromised lives? And you know exactly who I am talk about! Some sit next to Jezebels and high priestesses on their talk shows and bow to their gods of gossip and sin. Mixing with the world instead of taking a page out of Moses and Elijah to vehemently curse their shows as well as offer an altar call right on their show.

There is a lot to be done. So, if you have shed a tear about the election, it is time to get up and fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life. It is time to be salt and light in the earth. Stop looking at America like it is the church. It is not. Believers of the Lord Jesus Christ make up the church. And God is not surprised by these events. Let’s move from the place of mourning to the place of walking in the will of God and “Preach Until Sinners Hear.”

PUSH!
