Practicing Homosexual Pastors? Does This Make Any Sense?

As a pastor approaches the pulpit, the church is packed. A few weeks ago, he and his wife seemed a little upset at each other but nothing to allude to the congregation that something was wrong. The church members were told that the pastor would make an announcement. In one swift blow, the most disastrous words escaped his lips.

“I am homosexual.”

After watching the video of Pastor Scott Lively on gcmwatch.com I had to address this issue about practicing homosexual pastors.

One of the things that he mentioned was the fact that homosexuality is in a class of sin by itself. The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah underscores God’s wrath against those that insist on thumbing their nose at God in complete anarchy and defiance of God’s righteousness and holiness.

There is a gross, detestable phenomena that is happening more often than we can shake a stick at.

Cropping up all over the place are men and women in the pulpit, suddenly announcing that they are homosexual.

After years of preaching against sin, they have slowly moved away from the conviction of the Word regarding sin. When sin is not preached often in the pulpit, it is a clear indication that sin is in the house. When a pastor goes for weeks without address sin and deliverance from sin, it is almost a sure bet that there may be sin in the heart and camp of that church.

Practicing homosexual pastors usually have lived in sin from jump street and all of a sudden, they make a stunning announcement.

Prior to my forever repentance from porn and self gratification, commonly called masturbation, I was completely oblivious to what was happening in the church. Sexual immorality had taken the church over by storm and I was part of the Secret Sexual Sins Society (SSSS).

Except I, through my wife’s prayers, and by His grace and mercy, drew the line.

We need to look at the Biblical reasons why this is occurring.

For those of you that rejected truth already…

Relax.

If you are an apostate, you are condemned already and there is nothing that you can do about it.

There is nothing that you can do against the truth.

In fact, Paul said it like this in 2 Corinthians 13:8 NKJ & NLT….

“For we can do nothing against the truth but for the truth”

“Our responsibility is never to oppose the truth, but to stand for the truth at all times.”

This is the bottom line.

There is a campaign to destroy the truth.

Listen to the Song of Moses from Deuteronomy 32:3-4

“For I proclaim the name of the Lord: Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.”

God is God of truth. Remember what Paul said. “…we can do nothing against the truth.”

So because truth comes from God, there is nothing that you can do against God.

Jesus said in John 14:6,

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but through Me.”

In verse 17, Jesus prayed….

“Sanctify them through Your truth, Your word is truth.”

So, without controversy, Jesus is the Truth, and the Father’s Word is truth.

Is it possible for practicing homosexuals to speak truth?

No way!

John 8:44 is proof of that.

Isn’t it amazing and wonderful that after all the lies, fuss, arguments, confusion, deception, and evil, that God stands there with the truth?

Everything God does is fair because He is God of truth. Therefore, the devil is god of lies. He proved that in the Garden.

Many homosexuals will declare that God is unjust and has injustice. The definition of injustice is powerful. It means iniquity, perverseness, wickedness.

So God is without iniquity, perverseness, and wickedness.

In other words, God cannot deal with you as you would deal unjustly with man.

It is impossible for God to lie (see Numbers 23:19 and Hebrews 6:13-19).

Only the devil and his children speak lies.

Having established this fact, that God is truth and that the devil is a liar, can a practicing homosexual be a pastor?

No!

From saved, backslider, to full blown apostate.

First, he or she threw away their salvation.

You see, it is not possible to practice sin and practice righteousness at the same time.

It is possible to be in the kingdom but as a result of sin, you slowly make your way towards the exit for good.

Hebrews 6:4-8 says,

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame. For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God; but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.”

Notice the word or phrase, “to fall away.”

It is the Greek word, “parapipto” and Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words gives this definition.

“…to fall in one’s way, to fall away (from adherence to the realities and facts of the faith.)”

Thayer’s Greek Lexicon says, “…to fall beside a person or thing; to slip aside; hence, to deviate from the right path, turn aside, wander.”

Now notice what the writer of Hebrews state.

“…it is impossible for those…

To qualify as one that has fallen away from the truth or the realities and facts of the faith, you must….

1. Be enlightened. Being enlightened is not being saved. This means that the light of His glorious gospel shined and you approached.

2. Tasted of the heavenly gift. This is salvation. Remember what Psalm 34:8 says, “Oh taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man that trusts in Him.” Remember also what 1 Peter 2:3 says, “…if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”

3. Become partakers of the Holy Spirit. This is the initial infilling of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4.

4. And have tasted the good Word of God.  This is receiving and walking in the maturity of the Word of God and walking in the fruit of the recreated human spirit according to 2 Corinthians 5:17 and Galatians 5:22-23. You know you way around the Scriptures very well and you have matured in Christ to the degree that you can teach others by the way you lived according to the Scriptures.

5. And the powers of the age to come.  This is 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, the gifts of the Holy Spirit in operation in your life.

When you suddenly decide to “fall away” or  “to fall away (from adherence to the realities and facts of the faith),” the rest of that Scripture says “…For it is impossible for those…to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.”

There is no way for them to return to the kingdom.

Jesus will not be crucified again for your apostasy. He died, once and for all.

If they were genuinely saved, of course, and fall away, your fate is forever sealed. When you walk away from Christ and mean it, it is over. You are forever an enemy and subject to wrath.

As a side note, there will come a point in some apostates that were once genuinely saved to have a longing to return.

They can’t return because of these verses of Scripture above.

And another indication that they cannot return is that when you try to minister truth to them, and they constantly and consistently reject it. They will even tell you that the old person will not come back. They will label you as wrong. That’s because they can’t do anything against the truth. So they get mad at you and attempt to take it out on you.

This is another side of apostasy that many believers cannot reconcile. The fact that apostates cannot return to God, through Christ.

I can’t apologize. I was about to say “sorry folks.” When God told Lot and his family not to look back, He meant it. Lot’s wife didn’t take God seriously and looked at the destruction. She turned into a pillar of salt because she had longings for the sin in that city.

God never sympathizes with the thing He detests vehemently.

When I hear a statement like this that the “old person” is never coming back, it leads me to this one Scripture.

“For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turned the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”

In other words, they were planted by the devil and when it was time, they rose up with their vile, perverted doctrine.

Practicing homosexuals that call themselves pastors, reverend, bishop, apostle, are void of title and function. The title is conferred as a gift to the Body of Christ from the Head of the Church, the Lord Jesus Christ. If they were called and forfeited their salvation, they have also forfeited the call of God on their life, only if they were saved in the first place.

Those that were planted unnoticed, were never saved.

It’s an automatic default clause.

I would never address them by title because of the sacred connection to Jesus.

I will disrespect that person by not disrespecting my Lord.

So for all you that claim a ministerial title as a practicing homosexual, just know that you are an apostate. One that stands against the truth of the Scriptures.

There is no rest for the wicked.

There is no way out. You are forever doomed according to Jude.

What amazes me is the fact that after these charlatans expressed their “coming out of the closet” speech, that very few make for the exits of these devilish assemblies.

They stand there and applaud. Sounds like Romans chapter 1:32.

That only tells me one thing. They were closet people too. Then there are those that are confused about sin and righteousness. They do not know the difference and are caught in the apostasy themselves.

How can a practicing homosexual, living in perversion, declare that they are a minister of the gospel? Ministers represent light, righteousness, truth, holiness. Any minister that lived a holy lifestyle and then “fall away” has, on their own account, forfeited their salvation and calling.

This is based on the Scripture stated above.

Disagree? Can you find Scripture to refute apostates as declared in the book of Jude?

Can a homosexual or any sexually immoral person expect to inherit the kingdom of God based on 1 Corinthians 6:9 that clearly says…

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

What makes a person unrighteous?

Their unregenerate spirit.

There there is 1 John 3:4-9

“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.”

There is no way for a practicing homosexual to claim that he or she is a pastor, called by God and attempt to justify practicing sin in his or her life. And it is impossible for those that fall away to lay claim to ministerial titles because the Lord of the title is no longer their Lord.

They no longer work for the Lord, they work for the devil in vile, perversion.

Saints and ministers cannot be sympathetic to the perversion that the Lord hates.

Notice what Psalm 21:8 says.

“Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You.”

When you hate truth, the right hand, (Jesus is seated at the right hand of the throne of God see Psalm 110:1 and verse 5, Mark 16:19, and Hebrews 12:1-2) will find you.

Why will He find you?

Because you will attempt to hide in the day of His wrath. And He will find you with His right hand, even Jesus.

Finally this one Scripture.

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 says, “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his (satan’s) ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.”

(parenthesis are mine, not NKJ’s)

So the Scriptures declares that practicing homosexuals that claim to be ministers with titles are actually satan’s ministers and according to Psalm 21:8, His “…right hand will find those who hate You.”

In my next blog, we will talk about “The Wrath To Come.”
