Dating: The Big Seven That Single Christian Women Look For In A Man

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor. Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

There are many single ladies that look for serious mate to marry. The successful male candidate must have these seven requirements to make it pass the initial scrutiny of the prospectus female looking for a lasting relationship.

We already know that being a child of God is number one on the list. The prospectus man loves the Lord, is into his Bible, and lives the Word of God. We find that sometimes a brother could be deep into the Lord but still lack in these seven areas in a big way. They know a lot about the Scriptures, but they do not do well with these basic areas.

And when a Christian women questions the man about these areas, he gets very defensive. On the other side, there are men that are well versed in these seven areas, but they lack the love of the Lord. Men tend to get defensive when an area is found to be lacking.

Brothers, it’s time to bring both areas up to par.

To fail in these areas is a serious felony.

Check your attitude at the door.

1. Chivalry.

Just in case you are not aware of the definition, chivalry means “courtesy towards women.” If you are to win her heart, it starts with being a gentleman every time. All the time. A woman desires to be cared for. She wants to know without a shadow of doubt that you are committed to care for her. While she should be able to take care of herself, she should know that she has a man that is willing to lay his life down. Sacrifice is part of the price of chivalry. Paying attention to these details will make for a pleasant relationship. When you open the door for her, pull her chair back, buy her dinner (a real dinner, not Mickie D’s), and other small tokens, it makes her feel valued. Investing in this effort will go a long ways in taking things to the next level. Going Steady. Additionally, he must be able to understand what her needs are by asking. Guessing is not a good thing. There are certain things that women like and there are certain things that women do not like. It would be in your best interest to ask her. What she is looking for from you is understanding, connection, relationship, companionship, value, esteem, care, honesty, love, and a chance to be a part of your world. With understanding connection, a woman wants to know that you are interested in her. By calling her regularly, texting, or using other forms of communications, she feels wanted. While you are not married, these things are important to her security. If you are serious about her, you will always leave the lines of communication open. Romance is an essential part of the dating scene. Flowers, candy, candle light dinner. This adds to the list of chivalry, but for that special lady, it shows that she is worth it.

2. Strong Drive For Success.

You are a strong believer in making your dreams happen buy God’s help and grace. You are designed to be a man of purpose. A man of intent. You posses a strong sense of destiny. Her destiny is locked in yours. Because you have made up your mind to go somewhere, she is willing to go somewhere with you. If you are going no where, she may or may not want to go no where with you. A sense of purpose involves detailed plans and the execution of those plans. You are motivated to succeed. You are never afraid of trying. You are never afraid of failure. If you need to go to school, get to going. If you need to work more hours to achieve that goal, it’s a small investment to secure your future, and hers.

3. Extreme Care In Handling Your Personal Responsibilities.

In the economic times we are living in, every dollar counts. It is important that from day one, that you stick to and execute a sound financial plan. A sound financial plan begins with education. The more education you have, the better the chances of you being hired for a good paying job. Along with this, you have to stop creating bills just to have certain things. Establishing proper financial priorities and living within your means is the best possible way to be responsible. Pay your bills on time. Credit is not an additional paycheck. Credit is agreeing with the financial world to give them your future paycheck. The more debt you incur, the more you will lag behind in your basic responsibilities.

4. Well Kept House or Apartment.

Jungle Habitat or The Waldorf? Is your house a castle or a dungeon? Just in case you don’t know what this means. Is your house or apartment junky or adorable? If not, you need to get busy and clean up your joint or crib. You are convinced that “cleanliness is next to godliness.” It is not in the Bible, but we wish it did. If you live in an apartment or home, you are charged with making sure everything is in its place. Your desire to impress on the next level requires that you take care of every detail. Made up bed. Laundry done. You pick up after yourself. Food is in the refrigerator. Rent or mortgage paid on time. Utility bills paid on time. A clean house or apartment is an impressive house or apartment. The way you live reveals the kind of person you are. So make sure your house of apartment is squared away.

5. Outstanding Wardrobe.

Your clothing reveals the kind of person you are. If you are a “slob” in dressing, you will not attract the right person. You have to choose between, good, better, or best. Survey the room of men, Take note of what they wear. See what kind of women are attracted to what other men are wearing. Adjust where necessary. First impressions make a difference.

5. Great Personal Hair Grooming.

Even men have bad hair days but it should never be everyday. There are many hair styles out there. However, a well groomed hair style always score big. You have to choose what works for you while at the same time what would score with the ladies. The rule is simple. Neat. Trimmed. Washed and together.

6. Skin Care.

Ash Wednesday is not impressive. A little oil will go a long way.

7. Body Odor & Bad Breath.

There is so many deodorants and breath mints to choose from that it’s inexcusable not to be prepared. If you want to turn off a date, this is the one way to make sure. Brother, make sure you check yourself before you leave your home or open the door to your date. On the other hand, do not overdo the aftershave or cologne. If people could smell your cologne a block away from the restaurant, before walk in, then you are too “loud.” One or two sprays at the most.

While there may be other things that are just as important, I believe that these are the top things that will make or break a potential relationship.

For those of you that are married, take notes. When you adjust to incorporate this in your marriage relationship, you will bring the fire back and add lasting years to your marriage.

Perversions Of A Pastor

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor. Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

On Saturday, you retreat to the living room, pick up the remote and flip through channels. All of a sudden, a woman, or a man is on the screen that aroused you sexually.

That image wasn’t enough so you retreat to the privacy of your room to go on the Internet, or you go “pay per view” to watch porn. You go back to your bedroom to release sexual tension. Self gratification, commonly called masturbation, or use other forms of sexual perversion to release sexual tension.

These are some of the behind the scenes scandals that always lead to the big scandals.

Acting out sexually always begin in the secret places and then when it reaches it apex, the big story comes leaping out at the church, the Internet, and the world.

Sometimes we wait for a big scandal to discover a pastor’s secret perversion. Not realizing that there are many pastors that live perverted lives in secret.

No sex scandal is without this level of secret perversion.

I was one such pastor that live a life of sexual perversion. A level one sex addict. Having came clean about porn and masturbation, the Lord caused me to see a serious predictable pattern in my own life that may be somewhat similar in the lives of other perverted pastors.

For many preachers, we are mere humans. We succumb to the flesh. We know what the Bible says to others but we refuse to receive what the Bible says for us. We know how to minister to others but we dare not receive the Word for ourselves.

We love to hide our perversions behind the personality. You can’t hide sin behind the anointing because the anointing always leave where sin is present (see 1 Samuel chapter 4).

When we are in sin, we believe that there is nothing wrong with us. Saints, there is more to it than meets the eye. Sin is not a “train wreck.” Sin is defiance of God.

Man loves to fulfill the desires of the flesh and mind.

Perversion is “the curve that reverses the direction of something,” or “the action of perverting something (turning it to a wrong use).”

When it comes to fulfilling the desires of the flesh and the mind, you will do things to escalate or heighten the pleasure to achieve satisfaction. When the normal course of sexual satisfaction isn’t enough, the suggestions that come from ourselves or from the devil, if acted upon, sets the stage for experiencing perversions of the vilest kind.

One of the things that I am aware is that when it comes to the paths, means, and methods of achieving satisfaction, there is no end. In other words, we look for fulfillment in prescribing certain activities that add to achieve illusive pleasure.

Meditating on sexual thoughts, watching sexually laced movies, feminine seductions in music videos, porn, sports, exercise videos, sex filled books and magazines, Internet porn, sex filled chat rooms, prostitution, adultery, fornication, and homosexuality. Ultimately, we will cross the line into crime in search for that heightened sense to achieve orgasm.

It’s just a matter of time.

Cutting right to the chase.

It’s not just the orgasm that is important. It is the path, means, or methods used to achieve orgasm. This is what sexual perversion is all about. But what makes what we desire powerful is the path, means, and methods to achieve fulfillment. Our willingness to commit sin is what gives sin it’s power.

Hidden deep inside a pastor is several things that is evident.

The desire to be loved, affirmed, and touched.

But what we are really looking for is true intimacy with God. Sexual perversion has replaced God. Sexual perversion dethroned God from our hearts. Sexual perversion is the deification of man. Sexual perversion is false satisfaction. Sexual perversion is the carrot on the stick that will never be eaten.

Rejection, failure, loneliness, fear, disappointments, frustrations, anger, disillusionment, despondency, depression and other emotional “trigger mechanisms” are used to put us on a path to search for emotional healing of these wounds.

In a nut shell, we are all looking for true intimacy in false places.

We are looking for God but we refuse to come to Him because we’ve become emotionally attached to healing ourselves in the place of false intimacy. That’s why when a person is challenged to “flee sexual immorality” the fight is on.

Because we are spirit, soul, and body, we fail to keep these areas in their proper sequence. When we are out of sequence, it always begins with something perverted.

Body, soul, spirit. Hence, the definition of perversion, “turning it to a wrong use.”

We act like a little child. The body says, “I want this.” The mind says, “I want it.” The spirit is told to, “Sit there and be quiet.”

We must turn against all perversion and allow the Lord to help us to assume complete command of our spirit, soul, and body.

Our spirit man says, “Prayer and fasting.” Our soul is commanded to, “Agree. Resistance is futile.” Our body just goes along for the ride….in the hearse. Remember, we are dead to sin (see Romans chapter 6).

Body, soul, and spirit dictated my sexual perversion. Alive to sin, but dead to God. The secret perverted life of porn and self gratification, commonly called masturbation, was permitted to govern everything I did.

I was using the commission of sex acts as a means of “medicinal properties.” When a doctor self prescribes an anecdote, if it isn’t the right medicine, it could have devastating results and consequences.

I was a pharmacy. Prescribing my own healing solution or spell.

It’s the same with preachers.

To be honest, the pleasure was too intense to give it up. That’s the whole concept of sin. Satisfaction will never be achieved because you’ve grown accustomed to being satisfied with sin. Sexual perversion is soothing but deadly because you are cutting yourself off from the Author of life.

The book of James reveals why humans sin.

James 1:14 says,

“But each on is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.”

“Sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.”

Sin will never produce life. From the beginning, sin brought nothing but death.

James 1:14 is critical because it all begins with our “own desires.” These desires come from “urges and impulses” interconnected with our thoughts, emotions, and preferences.

Relapse has occurred in my life in the area of self gratification. There was never a relapse of porn. My declaration of freedom in December 3, 2009 was a date established as a reference point to herald my freedom from masturbation.

That date was violated.

I literally worshipped that date instead of worshipping God. It turned out to be another form of pride and arrogance.

I’ve found out that there were more than one way to achieve self gratification. This is when you can achieve self gratification by other means. Your hands may start it but you can have an orgasm another way.

You can argue all you want, but it doesn’t matter. I’ve tried arguing to justify sin but there is no justification of sin. Period! It is the job of the Holy Spirit to convict the world of sin (see John 16:8-11).

I’ve sinned.

So where do I go from here?

I go back to the place where it all started. I start all over agin to re-establish personal holiness in the fear of God. I repent, all over again. I declare that I’ve sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. I ask and receive His love and forgiveness. Not for violating the date. But for violating the Lord.

I look to Him to forgive me of hypocrisy, selfishness, lust of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life. Sexual perverted thoughts in the slightest ways.

I look not to deliver but to be delivered. I look to the Lord to teach me, lead me not into temptation.

There are many pastors that feel doomed to their hidden sexually perverted desires. They feel that there is no way out. But like me and many others, we relapse because we haven’t found or fully intended to yield to true satisfaction in Jesus.

It is when you have declared Jesus Lord over every part of you, including your sexual organs, that you have to make a stand that freedom from sexual perversion is secured.

Paul said, “I beat my body” (see 1 Corinthians 9:27).

Breaking free and staying free is about beating the urges and impulses back before they rise above the limit of your resistance.

But you cannot break free and stay free on your own.

This is the mistake that I, and every pastor that desires to be free makes. Please do not assume for one minute that I remain perverted. To confess something that Christ delivered you from is error.

“He whom the Son sets free is free indeed” John 8:32.

However, if we practice sin, then our declaration of freedom is questionable, at best.

You cannot be in prison and be free at the same time. Either you are free or you are not.

If you are making a good faith effort to be free, the Lord will take where you are and build within you a stronghold of righteousness for His glory. Just leave the sin outside the door, and never look back.

When a relapse occur, you think that you are anointed enough to minister to you. You think you have enough Bible knowledge in you that you can “speak a word” to yourself and be delivered.

When you gain knowledge about how to stand and you stand a little while, there will come times of testing. Not just from the devil but also from your own flesh and mind. Sometimes we want to attract attention to ourselves for selfish reasons. We take pride before others in being “delivered.”

Not realizing that the fall is coming if we do not do what Paul said.

Paul said, “…take heed, lest you fall” (see 1 Corinthians 10:12).

When you take heed, you are carefully watching yourself. You are watching your tendencies, your thoughts, your actions, your ways. You are exposing yourself. You are giving yourself to God and His Word. You are talking to other men or women of faith to keep your heart pure before God. You are humble and contrite. You are fasting and praying. You are accountable to others in your circle of accountability.

This is all a part of taking heed.

Relapse may occur but it is not final. There is hope and victory. Lasting victory in Jesus.

You have to stop trusting your own independent ability apart from the ability of God. When you trust in your knowledge to deliver you, this is pride and arrogance. When you try to “help” other men or women be delivered when you are not ready, you will fall.

There is no question about your desire to be zealous to deliver others, but when you fail to grasp the Lord and the Word for yourself, with others watching your life, speaking truth in your inner man, it is just a matter of time before you will have a relapse.

There were times in my own life when the urge to fulfill the desires of the flesh and mind overwhelmed me. The porn could be played over and over again in the mind because of the sheer volume of porn introduced to the portals of the soul in our memory.

It takes time to dethrone each image. It takes time to identify the “trigger mechanisms” in my life. It takes time to dismantle each device and to guard my heart and mind with the Word. In my own life, these thoughts are constantly bombarding and attacking the Word of God in me every day. But every day, I must be found in the Word for me.

Then the flesh cries out to be self touched. The flesh cries to be touched instead of disciplined. The discipline comes when you reckon your flesh to be dead to sin but alive to God. When you tell your flesh that you cannot respond to the urges and impulses, the flesh will cry out more.

This is where prayer and fasting comes into play. You shut off the TV, DVD’s, and everything else that starts you down the path to arouse your flesh to fulfill its lusts.

Lasting victory is the will of God, provided that we “take heed.” (please listen to our Secret Sexual Sins Broadcast)

Does The Lord Heal Today? Part One

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor. Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

From the time the Lord ministered healing in the earth to the present time, the healing power of God was always present. However, we have seen a waning of faith of the NT believers of today.

A general or gradual decline of teaching and participating in the work of God in the earth to minister God’s healing power occurred. Sometimes we lose our focus on believing what the Word of God said in order to believe more in the advances of medical science.

Or, we can be so preoccupied and mesmerized with the power of the storm that fear takes the place of faith, and we are found to be perishing. Storms are never designed just to distract. They are designed to steal, to kill, and to destroy. But Jesus is come to give life, and that you might have life more abundantly (see John 10:10).

The challenge to fight for your healing and receive divine health is upon us as never before. Years ago, the Holy Spirit gave me one of many reasons why God’s healing power and divine health was important to Him.

It is important to us because we need to be strong and healthy to do the work and will of God in the earth. It is difficult when we are subpar with our health, attempting to do the will of God.

Another thing that we need to do is stop calling the doctors the enemy. Do not get me wrong. Sometimes a misdiagnosis does occur or a pronouncement of death may be premature because the Lord always has the last say. But doctors are fighting against the same enemy we are fighting. They are only using natural means. Do not misunderstand me. There are some doctors that keep getting it wrong and you go back to them to get better, but nothing happens. That’s when you need to be a little more discerning and go to a reputable doctor.

Or, go to the Creator.

There are many Christians that refuse to discipline themselves in this area. however, there are many Christians that have begun to take control of their eating and they exercise. There is a twofold benefit that if you remain active, longevity and an increase of the quality of life is achieved as we age.

Once the decline of health begins, and it will begin, the more active you become, the more you retain your independence.

While being active is not the “magic bullet,” it is essential that we do the right things to maintain our health. Regular exercise and eating the correct foods, and portions will go a long way to preserving our health for years to come.

There are certain natural vegetables that carry natural properties that attack some forms of cancer. Stop smoking. As a pun, you are burning the wrong kind of incense in the physical temple.

As long as we do the right thing, we will add years to our lives. Case in point. Rigorous exercise (3 to 5 times a week- cardio 30 to 45 minutes – running, walking) and upper and lower body strength or resistance training with weights may add two to three years to your life.

When you know that your physical life should have ended at 89, you lived to 91 or 92. That’s two or three more years to give the devil some trouble in Jesus’ name!

Before re-establishing an exercise routine, you should consult with your physician. Moderate to fast paced exercise routine over the course of time is beneficial. Rome wasn’t built in a day. So plan for the long haul.

Healing is the grace work of God to bring relief to physical maladies of man.

The healing power of God was used in conjunction with evangelism. In a way, it was the Lord’s “marketing” or “advertisement” that God was present and His power was present. When Jesus came, He healed those that had diseases, sickness, and He cast out demons.

As secular humanism of medicinal healing progressed, man’s dependence upon God decreased.

However, even with all of man’s medical technological advances and knowledge, they still are limited, whereas, God is limitless.

The only limit that is imposed upon us is called “our inability to produce results.” Prayer or our ability to entreat God in faith is our means of expressing our faith in God to request that He do what we are unable to do (see Mark 11:22-24, John 16:23-24, and Philippians 4:6-7).

Only God is able and willing to produce results. We can only believe that He is willing and able to produce results. That’s as far as it goes.

The limit is “according to your faith, be it unto you.” The limit is, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes.”

If a person declines to believe, then, sadly, that person’s fate is usually sealed.
We must also conclude that as long as Jesus tarries, death is inevitable. Healing is the postponement of an eventuality. This is not a bad confession. Life includes death. We live in faith and we die in faith.

Some will ask, “What’s the use, then?” The use is getting your allotted time in according to Psalm 91:14-16 (NET).

“The LORD says, “Because he is devoted to me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he is loyal to me. When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor. I will satisfy him with long life, and will let him see my salvation.”

It is not the will of the Lord for man to suffer with sickness and disease. It is the will of God to relieve all people of sickness and disease connected to sin (see John chapter 5:1-15).

What also happened was that many “ministers” have fraudulently used the Bible for their own personal means. Sadly, they take advantage of people seeking God’s healing power. They take their money and the people leave with the same condition. These false ministers want you to believe that they have the power of God but their character and motives were wrong.

These charlatans brought a bad name to the genuine power of God. If you were to talk to most people and try to teach them about the power of God, they would not listen, let alone get healed because they were deceived and left hanging by these charlatans.

As a result, His power to heal is only noticeable in places where the hearts of His minister are humble before Him. Does it mean that the healing power of God no longer exists?

Just because many boneheaded false ministers, false prophets, and “fake healers” is out there, it doesn’t mean that the genuine power of God isn’t out there working through a few humble servants.

Mark 6:5-6 says, “Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.”

Remember what Mark said, “He could do no mighty work there.”

Notice the word “there.” Now, notice verse 6.

“And He marveled because of their unbelief.”

“There”, in His own country, was their unbelief. The reason was they couldn’t believe that God’s power was working through one of their own people, namely Jesus of Nazareth.

Therefore, unbelief stopped the power of God from flowing out of Jesus in that city.

So it is in the church today.

If you have people in the church that refuse to believe that Jesus can heal, then it is “there” that no mighty work can be done. No mighty work to heal AIDS, cancer, grow or replace lost limbs, heal organs, recover physical sight to the blind, the lame to walk, the infirm to receive strength, leprosy to be healed, mental illness, restore skin conditions, and so forth.

One of the things that I am also aware of is that just because nothing happened, it doesn’t mean that God is powerless. And it doesn’t mean that God is not God.

What does it mean?

It means that the healing didn’t take place. There is no sense in blaming God if healing doesn’t take place. What is important is that you stay in faith regardless of what happens and refrain from complaining and finding fault with the Lord.

Malachi 3:6 says, “I am the Lord, I change not.”

God never changes. His purposes never changes (see Isaiah 46:10-11). His plans never changes because His plans stands forever (see Psalm 33:11). Just because there is a decline or even a temporary withholding of what He does (see Psalm 84:11), it doesn’t mean that God changed.

It only means that the conditions imposed upon man weren’t met, God couldn’t move.

It can’t rain if there is no water in the clouds. If there are clouds in the sky, and if no evaporation takes place, then water cannot be poured out of the clouds.

The conditions must be met for rain. If you do not believe, then your faith cannot draw the power of God out of God to heal.

Luke 5:17 says, “Now it happened on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.”

In most of your Bibles, you will see NU Text. In the Critical Texts published in the 27th edition of the The Nestle-Aland Greek NT and in the United Bible Societies, hence NU-Text says this of the latter portion of that verse,

And the power of the Lord was “present with Him to heal.”

This translation makes Biblical sense because of what Luke 4:18 and Acts 10:38 says.

We must remember that “the Word became flesh and dwelled among us…” or “fixed His tent of flesh” (see John 1:14 AMP).

After being baptized by John, the Holy Spirit came upon Him (see Luke 3:21). Jesus had the full measure of the Spirit upon Him (see John 3:34-35).

The Amplified Bible or AMP says this of verse 34,

“God does not give Him His Spirit sparingly or by measure, but boundless is the gift God makes of His Spirit.”

Therefore, the ministry of Jesus required that He have the fullness of the Spirit. This doesn’t mean that Jesus was to do things on His own (see John 8:28-29). The purpose of sharing all of this is to get you to understand that the ministry of the Lord Jesus is unique. Only in the sense that He had the Spirit of God “without measure” or “not…sparingly.”

Individual members of the Body of Christ, those that God called to minister in the area of healing (or any other area), will always have the Spirit of God by measure or sparingly.

Did you catch the contrast?

Believers can only minister healing grace within the limits or measure of Christ’s gift (see Ephesians 4:7). Otherwise, Paul probably would have said, “unlimited, limitless, measureless gift of Christ, instead of “according to the measure of Christ’s gift.”

Did you get that?

Jesus had the Spirit without measure. Believers today, because of the ministry of Jesus, will only have the Spirit by measure. Therefore, the results will vary with us because we have the Holy Spirit by measure.

Having the Holy Spirit by measure is not a decrease in potency. It is a limit imposed by God because we are living in the dispensation of grace. We are not Jesus in the earth except that we are the Body of Christ. He is the Head of the Body (see Colossians 1:18). We are representatives of His ministry in the earth.

Therefore, we must always look to God for healing.

Same Sex Marriage In New York

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor. Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

Now that New York joined Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Washington, D.C., in legalizing gay unions, a few other states will follow suit. Poll after poll, if you believe them, states that the support for civil unions is over 50%. I’ve found another reason why the politicians are catering to the gay vote. It is not about letting gays have rights.

If you thought about it, from the president on down in the Democratic party, they’ve used your cause to prevent “too close to call” kinds of elections. They are forcing the Republicans to abandon conservative voters for a liberal agenda to pull voters.

Hence, abandoning Christian conservatives voters. Of course, you do not want to believe it, but the politicians will never be honest enough to tell you that this is what they fully intended. Or, at the very least, this is collateral results that they sought.

I know.

Another “Right Wing” conspiracy. But think about it for a moment, you got what you wanted, right?

Now what?

For the past few years, the election of politicians on most levels is too close to call. The swing votes may come from “I.O.U.’s. Politicians will cry out and say, “I signed legislation for gays to be unionized!” Certain incumbent candidates will state, “We do not want to turn the clock back, so, I need your vote.” You’ve heard that before, haven’t you? As a gay person, you got what you wanted. Gay unions to be recognized like heterosexual marriages.

Now you will feel compelled to vote for those that supported your cause. Not because you have rights, but out of a sense of obligation. It’s sad to say, but for sin, the gays were used. Sold down the road of political gain. Real politicians rarely express genuine care about their constituents.

Now that part of the truth is out, when it comes time to vote, just remember, you were used. The politicians are somewhat assured that the gay vote will come out and vote for the candidates that championed their cause.

“Too close to call” in certain key states, is a thing of the past.

And it will be the same in any other state that choose to go down the same path.

Spiritual immorality always seals the fate of a state or country.

Doomed to consequential judgment unless repentance is made according to 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Proverbs 14:34.

You have noticed that the gays wanted their unions to be recognized as a marriage between one male and one female. Common sense shows us that it can never happen no matter what laws are placed in the books.

Based on their flawed concept, they now want to legitimize their sinful concept of “a family.”

My challenge to every gay couple. Every male to male and female to female couple that went to get their marriage license.

Without adoption. Without artificial insemination. Without surrogacy. Produce a family.

Let’s look at it very closely.

Apart from “It’s about love, not about biology.” Let’s review basic….

Biology 101

It takes a male and a female to have natural sex, conceive a child, and have a “natural family.” Please correct me if I am wrong.

So far, this is right, isn’t it.

Even apart from the Word of God, this statement is correct.

Do you disagree with this statement in any way?

The statement again is, “It takes a male and a female to have sex, conceive a child, and have a “family.”

My question to you is, “Can one male inseminate another male to conceive a child, and have a “family?”

The common natural biological answer is…

Why? It is unnaturally impossible for a male to inseminate another male and the male that is inseminated conceive, and naturally give birth, to have a natural “family.”

God never joined male and male, or female and female together to be one. God joined one male and one female to be one flesh. It is impossible for two persons of the same sex to be one flesh. The anatomy of the male is incompatible with another male.

The anus of either sex doesn’t count for sexual intercourse. The anatomy of the female is only compatible with a male. Sexual intercourse can only take place between one male and one female.

The best that a man can do is inseminate the anus where human feces exits, or inseminate the mouth during oral sex. We know that a man or a woman cannot get pregnant after swallowing semen.

In the anus or mouth of another man, there is no egg for the sperm to go to. The only thing that is left is for the sperm to sit there until it is time to use the rest room to excrete human waste or digest it after oral sex.

Graphic? Graphic is light in comparison to grotesque.

Why can’t man become one flesh with another man?

When God created Adam and then Eve, they were created male and female, not female and female or male and male.

Genesis 2:24 says, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”

Notice the pattern. “…a man shall leave…” Leave who? “…father and mother…” Please notice that the father is the male and the mother is the female.

Please notice that the man is the son of the “father and mother.”

The father married his wife and produced a son. A son was born to them.

They had natural sexual intercourse.

The father had a penis and the mother had a vagina. Very basic. It is not too hard to understand. Conception took place and the wife naturally gave birth to a son.

Males cannot give birth. It is physically impossible. So all of those males that went to City Hall, picked up marriage licenses, and are recognized by the state as same sex couples.

But….they cannot naturally produce a child resulting from consummation of a “marriage.”

What a bummer.

According to man’s laws, they are recognized as a couple. But according to the highest standard, the Word of God, they cannot become “one flesh.”

It is not my job to make people mad or to frustrate their thinking. It is my job to present the truth from the Word of God in light of man’s attempt usurp the divine order of God.

My question is directed to male couples.

“Which one of you will be impregnated? I mean, you want to have children, isn’t that right? Which one of you will get pregnant and give birth to a child? Or, am I sadly mistaken? I mean, you got “married,” right? So now that you are married, which one of you will carry a child for nine months?

You do want a “family,” don’t you?

I’m being sarcastic but it is true. Just think about it for a moment. Adoptions and
artificial insemination is a secondary method of pregnancy for a woman. In any case, it requires a female to give birth or the child is to be birthed by “C” section.

Have we ever seen a man be man enough to be artificially inseminated?

So, no matter which way you look at it, a two male union must still rely on a woman to give them a child. It all goes back to God’s original intent and design.

Truth is hard to accept sometimes.

A woman is specifically designed by God to carry a child in her womb. To provide all of the necessary antenatal care while the child is developing in the womb of a woman.

A man is not designed by God to carry a child because he will never have a uterus, ovaries, eggs, and have a womb. The woman is a child bearing, child birthing person. Specially created by God to produce life through the birth canal. Man can only inseminate. Not give birth.

For female unions, it still comes down to egg and sperm. Her same sex partner cannot inseminate her.

Think about it. She has to rely on artificial insemination or adoption. Biologically equipped, she can be a mother but she cannot produce and ejaculate sperm to inseminate another woman. She must rely on a man in order for her to become a mother.

There is no valid argument against the Word of God and the way God created male and female. So far, their only argument is, “We are still a family.” But let’s look at what you did to make it a “family.” No matter which way you look at it, it still takes a male sperm and a female egg.

No matter how hard you try, you cannot conjure up any reasonable human conclusions. (please listen to our Secret Sexual Sins Broadcast)

What The Hell, Go To Hell, Hot As Hell, Damned To Hell

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor. Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

I know, the title is serious but many sinners and carnal Christians use this word in the wrong manner as illustrated in my title. The improper use of this word is downright wrong. If you are going to use the word “hell,” you might as well understand the true meaning of hell. In the right sense, you want to avoid this place at all cost.

Preachers and believers in Christ must warn people about this place. All who pass through it’s portals must abandon all hope.

Many have said, “Yeah. Don’t tell me. I know I’m going to hell.”

Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

So because of their sins, they already know they are destined for hell.

But you do not have to go there when Someone went there for you to pay your debt.

The NLT of verse 25 says,

“For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God’s anger against us. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed His blood, sacrificing His life for us.”

There are many “church growth specialist” that are more concerned about filling church seats than warning people about the worst place imagined. Church growth specialist are more concerned about not intimidating or using “scare tactics” to get them to come into the church.

Hell is not a scare tactic. Hell is a real place. Just as heaven is a real place but there is only One Way to get into heaven.

This is where the calling of God on my life, and many other ministers, surpass the doctrine of church growth and look to save souls from the region of the damned and the lake of fire to come.

After all, this is what Jesus ultimately died for. This is what the gospel of Jesus Christ is all about. To save us from our sins and to pay the price for sin so we will not have to spend eternity separated from the presence of the Lord forever in hell.

In the news, three 20 year olds lost their lives because they ignored the purpose of the guard rail and posted signs. They jumped over the guard rail to pose for a picture on the slippery rock and lost their lives in a fast moving river in Yosemite National Park.

The man and his wife were posing for a picture. When she slipped, her husband grabbed her and they both fell in. Another man also jumped in to attempt to rescue them. The people on shore that watched in horror could only scream as the couple were holding on to each other for the last time alive, as all three fell over the waterfall. Never to be seen alive again.

I can’t help but think of the Scripture in Hebrews chapter 2 and verse 3.

“…how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation…”

The well posted signs and barricade were intended to save a person from doing the unthinkable thing. This is neglect of the highest order. Over the course of time, well over 400 persons have lost their lives in Yosemite because they ignored the saving grace of wisdom, signs, and barricades.

They underestimated the slippery rock and the power of the water. While it would be fool hearty of me to determine their eternal fate, the wisdom of this story is twofold. When you see a sign that warns of impending danger, to neglect its wisdom and to intentionally ignore these signs of wisdom, it demands that a price be paid.

Before you die is the time to accept the provisions for salvation, not after. There is no salvation after you die.

Hebrews 9:27 tells us,

“It is appointed unto men once to die, after this the judgment.”

No one will miss this appointment.

No one!

Ignore as you walk past the Christian church at your own peril. Neglect the Christian tract at your own risk. Just remember. You’ve been warned.

More on this later.

It is sad that many people ignore the Christian church, its preaching, and warnings about a place called hell.

In Matthew 7:13-14, the Lord Jesus said,

“Enter by the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

Over the course of time, many things have been said about the abode of the damned or condemned. It is not surprising that we use the word “hell” to express troubling times in this life or when we are experiencing extreme heat on earth.

But the trouble we are experiencing in life or the heat we may be complaining about is in no comparison to what the departed condemned of this life is presently experiencing.

In the natural, the closest word that we can come up with to describes hell is the word Gehenna. In studying out this word, if you study the history of the city of Jerusalem, according to Nelson’s Bible Dictionary,

“…the Valley of Hinnom was used as the garbage dump for the city of Jerusalem. Refuse, waste material, and dead animals were burned here. Fires continually smoldered, and smoke from the burning debris rose day and night. Hinnom thus became a graphic symbol of woe (doom) and judgment and of the place of eternal punishment called hell.

Translated into Greek, the Hebrew “Valley of Hinnom” becomes “gehenna,” which is used 12 times in the NT (eleven times by Jesus and once by James).

In the OT, parents sacrificed their children as a burnt offering to the pagan god Molech (See 2 Chronicles 28:3; 33:6).”

As a side issue, this is what I would call, “out of womb abortion.” In other words, sexual immorality would be committed and they would sacrifice the child by tossing the child into the fire alive.

According to Nelson’s Bible Dictionary, Gehenna was also called “Tophet” (see 2 Kings 23:10).

According to Fausett’s Bible Dictionary, “…toph, [means] the “drums,” [they were] beaten to drown the shrieks of the children made to pass through the fire to Molech;”

Why would drums be necessary? To drown out the cries of the children to make the worship of Molech tolerable. For the cry of a child will pull on the mother to rescue her child from experiencing any pain. The drums of “Pro-Choice” continue to be loud over the cries of the unborn child to make the worship of Molech tolerable.

While this is a side issue, we need to see the origins and seamless connections of the worship of Molech in the past and sexual immorality, children conceived and born out of wedlock, and abortion raging throughout the world today.

Therefore, the Valley of Hinnom describes the horrors of hell after physical death.

Hell is not a party. It is not good times. It is not a celebration for sins committed. It is not a club. It is not pretty. If this natural description is horrible, then the real place is no walk in the park.

Imagine burning day and night. Imagine smelling smoke night and day. No rest. No breaks. No water. No air conditioning. No fan. No wind. No ice. No comfort. No ease. Just torment forever.

First, hell was prepared for the devil and his angels (see Matthew 25:44).

As told by the Lord in Matthew chapter 25, there will be a separation. The Lord will sit upon the throne of His glory. The nations will be gathered before Him. He will separate the righteous to stand on His right and the unrighteous to stand on His left.

The righteous will, “inherit the kingdom prepared…from the foundation of the world.”

The unrighteous will enter, “into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”

Second, after people die physically, and their names are not found written in the Book of Life, God sends to hell those that refused already to accept the terms or conditions of salvation.

Sinners are condemned to hell by their choice in this life according to John 3:18-19.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”

Many of you do or do not believe that hell exists but are you willing to take a chance that it doesn’t exist? Knowing that hell exists but refusing to accept the terms is fool hearty risky.

I pray that you are not any of them.

There is the only Way out.

John 14:6 says, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father but by Me.”

Acts 4:12 says, “Neither is there salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.”

Just in case you do not know Who “the Way, Truth, and the Life is.” Just in case you do not know Who the “…Name under heaven…” is. His Name is Jesus.

There is different renderings of hell in the Bible. We’ve used Gehenna as one description. The description given by Nelson’s Bible Dictionary is clear that it is a fire that smolders and the smoke ascends day and night.

The graphic depiction and use of Gehenna in Matthew 25:41 mirrors Revelation 20:11-15. Please take time to read both accounts.

Hades, in the Book of Revelation, is defined as the “region of departed spirits of the lost,” according to Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words. “It corresponds with the word “Sheol” in the the OT.

However, according to Vine’s, “It never denotes the grave (where human remains are interred), nor is it the permanent region of the lost; in point of time it is, for such, intermediate between decease and the doom of Gehenna.” Parenthesis are mine.

In other words, the lost must be held in Hades, “the region of departed spirits of the lost” until the consummation of the ages according to Luke 16:19-31 and Ephesians 1:10.

Luke 16:19-31 is the account of the rich man and Lazarus, the beggar at the gate of the rich man. Lazarus was carried into Abraham’s bosom (just another term for the bliss side of Hades), and the rich man lifted his eyes in the torment side of Hades.

Hades, before the Lord Jesus paid the price for sin, was separated into two places with a large gulf fixed between the two. Those that lived righteous lives before the law of Moses and those that followed the law, when they died, they entered into Abraham’s bosom. Those the lived evil lives, when they died, they lifted their eyes in the torment side of Hades.

When Jesus died and was resurrected from the dead, He “led captivity captive…” according to Ephesians 4:7-10 and Hebrews 2:14-18.

Hades is not purgatory either. The error of purgatory gives the lost a glimmer of hope to escape if someone prays for their soul to be released. Sort of like parole. But with sin and unrighteousness, there is no parole if you die in your sins according to Luke 13:1-5 and John 8:24.

Why would a loving God send people He created to hell? The answer is simple. Sin. Sin is inconsistent with the nature and characteristic of the Holy God. Sin is defiance of God. Sin hates righteousness, peace, and holiness. Sin and righteousness are never compatible.

Sin was paid for by the life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus appeased or satisfied the conditions of the Father that sin must be paid for by the sinless life of another human. The conditions are simple. All we need to do is believe and accept the terms of salvation.

At the judgment, death and hades (the region of departed spirits of the lost), will be cast into the lake of fire.

Lake of fire?

There was a tour guide showing some tourist people places where volcanoes erupted. In one location, there was lava that looked like a lake. I couldn’t help but use this as the ultimate illustration of what the lake of fire is like. In the natural, anything that drops into it would instantly vaporize. Nothing would be left. Life would be snuffed out in less than a second.

But just image being thrown into an eternal lake of fire alive? Remember when Adam was created an eternal being. When sin came into the world, physical death came. But spiritual death came first. Spiritual death is separation from the presence of the Lord because of sin.

If anyone died or was killed, their body was to be buried. But when the judgment comes, their bodies will be resurrected. Will you be at the resurrection of the just or the unjust is your choice to make.

If you choose to be a part of the resurrection of the unjust, all of your faculties will be present.

The only thing that will not happen when you are cast into the lake of fire is that you will not burn up. You will feel the torment day and night. Smoke ascending up, day and night. Now, if the devil, the false prophet, and the beast will experience torment day and night, the unsaved will also.

Revelation 14:11 says, “And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever, and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”

Hades, the region of departed spirits of the lost, is torment. The lake of fire is torment continued. If you have ever went swimming in water, you know what wet is, but imagine swimming in fire without burning up or a chance to take a break.

You do not want to go there.

SINGLE Woman Available: Desire Godly Male To Marry Me!

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

When will he come? When will he ask me the question? When will I get married? When? When? When? Why do men wait so long? Why don’t they commit? Why does everyone else find a mate and I am left all alone? Is it because I’m not attractive or beautiful? What’s wrong with me? Why won’t God answer my prayers for a man? I am about ready to quit? God I hate You for putting me through this waiting period! God. I don’t believe You any more!

If you haven’t asked any of these questions or made any of these or similar statements, then you are married or you have completely walked away from the issue of getting married.

While you probably do not care about the statistics, they serve as vital pieces of information that will help us to understand the current trends of today.

It was estimated that during the 1950’s and 1960’s that over 60% of families were married. In other words, the household had a male and female figure that were joined in holy matrimony. Today, that figure is significantly reduced to around 30% or 40%, or less.

What happened?

A number of significant dynamics occurred.

Males that claim to be men fail to uphold the standards of morality according to Proverbs chapter 5, chapter 6, verses 20 through 35, and chapter 7.

The moral fibre of those days were far better than today.

Then there is the immoral woman as recorded in Proverbs chapter 7.

It’s a two way street.

If you slept around in those days, the stigmatization applied to unmarried women of being a “slut” or an adulterous woman being called a “whore,” was once very damaging. Yet, it compelled some women to “save herself” for the right man and from having these negative titles applied to her.

For men, it was a badge of honor to be in adulterous or multiple relationships. There was little, to no negative stigma attached to men that engaged in adultery or fornication.

Completely wrong, inappropriate, sinful, shameful, and downright filthy of men. Equal responsibility belongs to both male and female that engage in sexual immorality according Hebrews 13:4.

As far as male dominion was concerned, sleeping around and scoring was normal.

Today, it is almost no big deal for women to steal “experienced” married men or to fornicate regularly. In fact, this game of sleeping around is now almost on equal footing. This means that women hunt for “booty call” just like the men do.

Single women play the field just like men do. It is also common knowledge that women engage in porn and self gratification, commonly called masturbation. In fact, one out of six women will watch porn, one in three will act out or “hook up” with a man for sex to feed an intimacy connection need.

It is already common knowledge that men engage in lustfully watching women, being Beyonce or Angelina Jolie seduced, watching porn, and masturbating more often than you think.

There was one article that was called “Cheap Sex.”

Cheap Sex was about the fact that some women no longer demand that a man marry them in order to have sex. It is now normal to text a person for sex.

They would use their electronic devices and set up a rendezvous for a sex romp. A one night stand. Maybe two or three, if the sex was good, and then they call it quits. More couples that aren’t married are still “kicking the tires” or “shacking up.”

They enjoy the benefits of marriage, but there is no legal contract or marital obligation. They can walk out from each other at any time. No commitment, no marriage, no real meaningful relationship except in the bedroom, if you call that “meaningful.”

Risky, non condom sex always end tragically.

There is no such thing as “safe sex” except between two married persons of the opposite sex.

Pregnancies, still births, miscarriages (they happen between married couples too), an abortion, STD’s (only happens when one of them cheats on their spouses of the opposite sex). Children born out of wedlock or arrange for adoption after birth. Both the mother and the child contracting HIV/AIDS. Even if there were no births or STD’s, the emotional emptiness is still there until it is temporarily filled with another sex romp.

Or is completely fulfilled in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ according to John chapter 4:1-27, John 8:1-11.

For the most part, most women desire romance and commitment in a monogamous relationship.

The search for real intimacy and relationship continues to end for the available single woman in frustration, anguish, despondency, and utter despair. A single woman’s needs go unmet and this cycle of frustration continues.

The variety of apparent negative dynamics.

Interracial marriages.

Black men marrying White, and Asian women, and White women are marrying Black and Asian men.

In my opinion, when two persons of the opposite sex truly love each other, it should never be a problem. When it comes to population statistics, it is true that in the United States, African Americans make up 12% or 13% of the US population.

When Black males marry White women, it is a very serious issue that significantly decrease the chances for available Black women to marry Black men. There is no question that some Black women seriously object to Black men marrying White or Asian women, and they are hurt by this.

However, I find that White men cross the color line too.

My opinion doesn’t have to be accepted, but it is clear. When two persons of the opposite sex love each other and are willing to look past the shell for the person, that’s what matters the most.

There is no way to smooth this over because the realities are before us. There will be disagreements and anger because of what I said (this is I speaking, not the Lord), but we must be honest about what is before us and begin to look at the total picture. It doesn’t mean that you have to accept it. Just look at the facts with an honest and open heart and mind.

Even if I were say that God really brought two racially different persons together, for the person that isn’t married to object and take exception, I have to agree with you that there is very little comfort and solace.

My prayer to the Father, in Jesus’ name is that you do not be bitter about it. Be better about it by “walking in the Spirit” and “let love be without hypocrisy,” according to Romans 12:9. Resist and refuse to harbor resentment, envy, and jealousy according to James 3:13-18.

When you can’t do this, (that is walk in love about it), you have made a choice to refuse to do what Christ would want you to do about it. Anytime we refuse to do what the Word says to do, we are walking in disobedience, and we cannot expect God to do much to change our own situations when we willingly stuff our disobedience in His face.

There are things that must be broken in us if we want to see a breakthrough for us.

More men are incarcerated. More men are exploring same sex, self sex, or bisexuality to self satisfy sexual intimacy needs apart from women. More men are unemployed and are unable to financially sustain a family, let alone themselves. More males remain childish males mentally.

These factors significantly decreases the possibility of women getting married. What this means is that some of the men still see life as a game and sex is a part of that game they play. They must be broken, in Jesus’ name. Available single women are waiting for men to show up.

Which of you males are willing to put away childish things and become a man?

You know that men have a penis but they don’t use their brains first. Their sex drives compels their lower anatomy to do all their thinking for them.

Sexually only minded males will only view of women from a commodity perspective. The “sexual objectification of women” only for satisfying a sexually immoral desire. The male’s flawed thinking is that the body of a women is just a container to get off on. Use and discard a woman just like a condom.

Not realizing that the woman is a person with feelings, emotions, and is a human being. Worthy to be loved, honored, and respected.

With this type of immorality going on, men are no longer forced by single available women to commit to her and be in a meaningful relationship when “free tail” from immoral women is offered.

Then there is the flawed, at best thinking that, “If I don’t let him have me, I will never get him.” Or. “I’ll give him a baby, and he will marry me!”

That’s the whole purpose of prostitution or one night sex romps. Give a man only one thing and that’s it. All of the other stuff is not a part of what men pay for.

But deep down inside, the male will one day, be a man and come to the conclusion that they need feminine connection, relationship, and spousal affirmation. Not just from the bedroom but from life as a whole. Deep down inside a man, he is looking for a person that would accept him for who he is. And right now, all he is thinking about is to be accepted and affirmed from one selfish aspect.

The sense of physical sex and achieving orgasm for accomplishment, or job well done in the bedroom, is his only objective. It’s a cry for intimacy by relationship that he, himself concluded could only be attained through sex acts.

Why do men take so long to come to their senses?

Sex to him is incorrectly considered a sport. A “score.” A reward for winning. When everything else fails around him, he goes to the one place where it is a guarantee that he will be rewarded.

These are just some of the things that single women face as to why men do not commit to a meaningful relationship.

Then there are men that can’t get past wounds inflicted from previous relationships. He self determined that they are too painful for him to overcome to engage in another relationship. So he engages in meaningless sexual relationships for sex only because it requires no commitment.

This is very disparaging for single women.

For single women, the “competition” is fierce and intense. Even in the church. For the most part, the church is somewhat to blame because there is very little, to no teaching to men about dating, sex, relationships, commitment, connections, how to rightly treat women, and so forth.

Then the places where connections take place is more of a worldly culture than Christian.

The night clubs, malls, movie theaters, street hangout, private and semi-private parties are the common  places where “hook ups,” are happening. Some “so called” Christian concerts is another venue.

Looking at the church scene, we see that not many men show up in small churches. In fact, there was one article that revealed that the place to go meet a man is in the mega churches or a fairly sized church. That’s because the chances for being noticed exponentially increases where more males show up.

But also in these mega or large churches, there is a lot of single available women waiting to be noticed. These women range from chaste, to extremely provocative. I find that for the most part in the medium and mega churches where there is a single male pastor available, more single available women will show in hopes of being noticed and get married to that pastor.

There is no doubt that marrying a pastor is on the list because the pastor’s personality, outspoken nature, possible good looks, power, influence, money, and other high end aspects is extremely appealing to single available women. There is no doubt that even married women will “get counseling” just to get in bed with that pastor. It has happened, so don’t be naive or fooled.

But for the most part, righteous single women just want a man that would be interested in her. She wants him to be successful, working, responsible, caring, loving, sensitive, fun, and above all, one that is serious about the Lord, as well as be serious about family values, and commitment to one woman.

She is looking for someone that will love her for who she is. A beautiful, attractive, intelligent, and a well grounded woman. Grounded in the sense that she lives by basic godly principles.

These virtues is very appealing to a man.

These principles is not about housekeeping, child bearing, and raising. It is not about being a “momma” to the man. It’s more about common relational connections that makes being around each other fun, exciting, and challenging. Challenging in the sense that you are learning each other and adapting or adjusting to make a relationship work.

It is in this aspect that women shine and the best is brought out of her.

All she needs is for a man to take a chance.

Finally, the risk is there. A man takes a risk. A woman takes a risk. In my judgment, mistakes are going to be made. Perfection is a fleeting thing. First impressions are lasting impressions but somewhere along the line, in making a choice, a hair or two will be out of place.

Men. Stop dawdling and accept her with that hair out of place. All she needs is a brush or comb to put it back in place.

Man. A piece of meat will be found in between your teeth when you put on your best smile after dinner.

What am I saying?

Men. You need to get off the sidelines and pick one. She is right there in front of you. Pick her. Compatibility is sometimes determined when you first set eyes on each other and begin to look past the skin, and see a person that desires your love.

And if you are in a relationship, how ready for marriage are you going to get? She is waiting for your proposal. She is waiting on you to get serious and pop the question. She is waiting to walk down that isle and give you everything you could ever imagine.

My brother, if you are reading this, perhaps you need a little push. You might be asking the question, “How will I know she’s the one?”

Sometimes you won’t know until she walks down that isle. You won’t know until you are on your sick bed and you look up, and she is right there. You won’t know until you can’t pay the bills but she willingly puts her resources together to help you. You won’t know until you wake up next to her after the wedding, and you see her smile across her face.

That smile is a smile of, “I thank God you picked me.”

Single women, do not give up on God.

Sometimes what you need to do is venture outside the normal. See new places and meet new people. It’s a risk that everyone takes. But you won’t know until you go. Sometimes you are waiting too long for the one that you think is to be your soul mate.

But he keeps you waiting and waiting. HE is a fool because he failed to recognize that God put you there for him.

It’s time for you to make a decision because you can’t let a male person that is known to go no where keep you from going somewhere.

There are many place where you shouldn’t go. God knows that you do not need to go to places where the dating is nothing more than going to clubs/brothels, or strip joints.

You are worth more than that, and you should never lower your standards to hook up with the wrong bozo/bonehead that thinks only about satisfying his other head. (please listen to our Secret Sexual Sins Broadcast)

Truth be told.

Covetousness; Greed Is Good?

by Fred C. Rochester

Covetousness; Greed Is Good? Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

If you have many maxed out unsecured or secured credit cards, home equity loans, a mortgage on a house that is beyond your means to pay, car notes, personal loans, and other forms of debt, it is a clear indication that you are, or you were covetous.

In Luke 12, two brothers were fighting over their inheritance. The matter was brought before the Lord Jesus. The Lord Jesus told him, “Who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” It seems to me that there was more to it than meets the eye.

First take note that the brother was standing in a crowd of people. He aired his sibling’s dirty laundry before the people. All in an effort to get the Lord Jesus to rule in his favor.

We do not know if his brother was present, but it appears that some people in the crowd knew these guys and word was to certainly get back. However, we see that it wasn’t for the Lord to rule because no one in the legal system made Him an arbitrator.

Then the Lord gets to the root of the issue.

“Take heed and beware of covetousness,” The Amplified Bible is quoted as saying,

“Guard yourselves and keep free from all covetousness (immoderate desire for wealth, the greedy longing to have more).

Immoderate is defined as “beyond reasonable limits.”

There is a powerful series called “Hoarding.” It talks about people’s compulsive desire to accumulate things. Rat packing is a serious issue because when you have the ability to buy an item and then store it, you are creating a mess that becomes extremely difficult to deal with.

The sad part is that they grow emotionally attached to the various items in the house and will become very combative. The reasons for this kind of behavior varies from person to person but there is a consistent pattern common to most people that hoard.

1. An serious emotional event occurred in their lives that compelled them to shut down common sense and normal reasoning.

2. Accumulation was permitted to reach a stage where undoing what was done became unbearable. Not just for the person that is hoarding but for the family members that attempt to correct years of compulsive accumulation.

3. Emotional detachment ( a complete clean up) would mean death to them. In other words, each item gave them a warped reason to coexist and if a separation took place, they would freak out.

While I am addressing a total different subject, you do not have to be a hoarder to be covetous. Hoarding is just an extreme case of covetousness associated with traumatic events that immobilizes a person. The majority of their accumulated items become their memento to happy times before a tragedy or emotional trauma. It becomes for them their security or comfort. It is an extreme compulsion that has the potential to eventually kill a person.

One such case took place a few years ago. The man had so much stuff inside the house that it concealed his death for quite sometime. It was only until the mailman couldn’t put any more mail in his box that they decided to call the authorities.

When they tried to enter the front door, they could not go any further. It wasn’t the smell of his corpse that repelled the authorities. It was the accumulation of stuff that prevented access to the body. There was so much stuff in the house, they had to take it out, piece by piece before they could remove his corpse.

The parable of the sower is a classic example of where the hearts of people are. The most common place where people abide is among thorns. The seed, which is the word of God, is thrown among thorns where the Word is being choked with “cares, riches, and pleasures of this life.”

This is the place of covetousness.

If God’s people want to stay free of covetousness, they must get to the place where the good ground is, where the seed will produce fruit. Those that are on good ground will always be content with what they have in life because of Psalm 23:1.

In Philippians 4:11-13, Paul gave us these powerful words.

“Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Paul didn’t permit his need to drive him to do things that would violate his relationship with the Lord and God’s people. He had a common sense approach to life. He went to work.

In 1 Timothy 6:6-10, Paul tells us,

“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

When the love of money became the only pursuit in the life of a believer, there is only one result. You will stray from the faith in greediness. Once again, it is a depiction of a believer that is among thorns where the word is choked because of “cares, riches, and pleasures of this life.”

Hebrews 13:5 tells us, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you not forsake you.”

When everything runs out, the one thing that you will always count on is that God will never leave you nor forsake you. He will make a way so you won’t have to. It takes faith to trust God to get through in this life.

In none of these Scriptures do we see the Lord advocating that we do without, remain poor, or suffer lack. However, we do see that regardless of the conditions of our lives, we are to be content.

You will recall in 1 Kings 16, when Elijah walked up to Ahab and told him that there would be no rain for 3 and a half years (see James 5:17-18).

The Lord sent Elijah to Zarephath and commanded a widow woman to provide for Elijah.

When a nation refuses to repent of sin, dire conditions are released to nudge the leaders and the nation to the place of prayer to repent for the sins committed in the church and the nation.

If you carefully read the stories in the OT, you will see that the origin of these conditions began in Deuteronomy 28:1.

“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:”

The downside of conditions always have one conclusion.

Deuteronomy 28:15 says,

“But is shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:”

While this Scripture appertains to the children of Israel based on the law, we must remember that the principle of obedience and righteousness to God is applied to every nation on the planet. While “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law” (see Galatians 3:13),” it is not a blank check to “…continue in sin that grace may abound” (see Romans 6:1).

Jesus did not die for our sins so that we can continue to sin.

Proverbs 14:34 says,

“Righteousness exalts a nation. but sin is a reproach to any people.”

Please note that it didn’t say, “Righteousness exalts only the nation of Israel.” The New Living Translations says,

“Godliness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.”

It is interesting to note what 1 Peter 2:9-12 says,

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

Notice that Peter called the church, “a holy nation.”

So when the church is holy, it is a godly nation. God, therefore, exalts that holy nation, within a nation. The rest of Proverbs 14:34 is appropriate for the sinful nation, including the church. When we are in sin, we are a disgraceful nation. If exaltation uplifts a nation, disgrace is the downfall of a nation.

If you have noticed, the governor of Texas called for the State to enter into a time of prayer with fasting. He’s been getting heat but it seems to me that it will go forward regardless of the may lawsuits and fuss.

In Oklahoma, the governor is setting out time to pray for rain. Let me tell you. I think somebody is getting the message. But it’s not coming from our prominent pastors and leaders. It’s coming from the politicians. Do not get me wrong. If the pastors are influencing the politicians, telling them that they need to pray, then we do not need to know their names.

What we need to be more concerned about is getting each state to come back to God. Who cares about who did the influencing so long as we are found on our faces before God. But I also find that some parts of the church isn’t getting the message. We haven’t put two and two together.

Immorality is still the business of most pastoral leaders and congregants.

How do I know?

When you see a lot of people leave their churches because you preach against sin, same sex unions, adultery, fornication, pornography, masturbation, bisexuality, pederasty, and other sexual sins, it is clear that they want to send you a message that they intend not to give up sins of the flesh.

If they leave because a pastor is found to be in sin, sadly, that departures will happen. That’s because the people expect their spiritual leaders to be held to a higher standard and be held accountable. The wrong message to send is for the leader to salvage his ministry.

What he is really doing is salvaging his empire at the expense of the kingdom of God. The godly thing to do is surrender the ministry, salvage his relationship with God, his family, and then to the congregation.

When you see that the prominent preachers are still peddling the prosperity message and the gospel of inclusion, we haven’t gotten the message. When you see elements of the world’s brand of “gospel music”  in the church. When you see a rise in sexual immorality because of it, then you know the church is in trouble, let alone the world.

I mentioned the story about Elijah and the widow woman for a reason. The economic conditions in this nation is a direct result of covetousness, same sex unions, and abortion. These sins are evident in the church and in the world. We do not know how to be content with what we have and we desire more.

We desire intimacy with ourselves, same sex, and opposite sex, illicitly. When we conceived a child out of wedlock and then abort that child because we can’t afford the child or the conception was a mistake, these are gross sins that defile a nation.

With unemployment at 9.2 percent. With interest rates on credit cards and loans at an all time high. With a decreasing taking home paycheck. With the high cost of living to purchase the basic necessities; gas, light, phone, food, and clothing.

Repentance, confess our sins, forsake our sins, live righteously before God. Sanctify the Lord in our heart. Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Weep between the porch and the altar. Set a time for prayer and fasting, with weeping and mourning.

God will honor the pastor that falls on the sword. That’s right. Crucify himself. God will honor the church that seeks His face. God will turn churches around and then turn a nation around. We must be serious about killing covetousness, sexual immorality, and same sex unions in the church, first.

When we judge ourselves, we will not be judged. Hence, we won’t be condemned with the world. If you want to see an outpouring of the presence of God, all you have to do is bring to Him what He requires. A contrite and broken heart. A heart that is sorry about sinning against God. Then, and only then will our sacrifices be acceptable in His sight.

Bisexuality In The Church

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor

Bisexuality In The Church. Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

The end times has a lot to do with bisexuality in the church.

In the book of Acts, chapter 1, just before the Lord ascended into heaven, the disciples asked the Lord a question. The greatest miracle that they have ever seen was to see the Man that was crucified, raised from the dead. After this, for many of them, there was no doubt about Who was standing before them.

With the Lord standing before them that was once dead, the next thing that they wanted to know was will the Lord restore the kingdom of Israel.

The disciples thought that it was a good time for Israel to come out from the bondages of the Roman empire. Remember Daniel’s prophecy? The four kingdoms that were to come to pass in Daniel chapter 2 is one of many keys in understanding the end times.

Babylon was the first kingdom. Medes and Persians were the next. And then, the Roman empire. But a fourth kingdom will emerge that will have no end and will destroy them all.

While Roman rule did come to a close in one sector of the world, we see a continuation of Roman rule in many government systems. A king, a president, a prime minister. An assembly of some sort with local representation or state, and federal senators, and a judicial system.

Since September 11, 2001, the world spent an enormous amount of money on security. It is a fact that trillions of dollars were spent to make the world safe. But it was never safe. The economic disaster of recent times is strangling every person. Government systems are reeling in debt. Raising credit limits to pay just the interests on the debt and passing the bill or “kicking the can” down the road.

The new thing is destroying early retirement, firing workers, and destroying unions to force people to work harder and longer for less or no pay.

Let’s look at the moral condition of the church. The Lord brought judgment into the church on several occasions because of it’s refusal to be separate or sanctified. Sexual scandals continue to rock the entire church. Additionally, the financial dealings of ministries have now been brought into question.

Many pastors have built palaces and many of them had to relinquish their empires because the people that would have been able to finance their ministries are unemployed. Foreclosure for a church is a serious issue but worse is that the believer cannot make ends meet, let alone tithe or give offerings to the ministries like before.

And the church leaders are oblivious to the fact. They are putting more pressure on the believers to give more. There are many believers that is facing foreclosure, high rents, high grocery and utilities than ever before. At the same time, the morality of pastors and the people are lower.

There is no question in my mind that the leaders in the church are in bed with the politicians. That if the pastors do not expose the sin, then same sex legislation can be passed. The church is told to sit down and shut up.

There is no question in my mind that the Lord is not pleased with the condition of the church from the pastors to the people sitting in the pews. We are not living holy, sanctified, separated lives before the Lord.

When you see the world set the standard for the church and the church fails to refuse sin, rebuke sinners and carnal saints, and take a stand for holiness, there is no question in my mind that the Lord is against it.

When you see, hip hop, R & B, and all of the other worldly entertainment enter the church, there is no question in my mind that compromise has entered. The sad part is that very few preachers will have a Mount Carmel episode. “The God that answers by fire, let Him be God. If God be God follow Him. If Baal be God follow him.”

There is no question in my mind that spineless preachers are in our pulpits. Afraid to take on sin in their own lives, let alone sin running rampant in their churches. Because if you talk about sin in the church, you will have an empty church.

So let’s talk about something safe so we can keep the money coming in.

Sexual scandals are no longer a cause for alarm. It is now expected and accepted for pastors to sleep with men and women. It is now commonly accepted for the church to live with homosexuality in the church among pastors, music ministers, singers, and church folk. Bisexuality is nothing new among pastors. It is now common. The only thing that hasn’t happened is their discovery and exposure.

There are many pastors that are dying to tell their church of the sin that they are in. One by one, they will come out. Not to come clean, but to open the door for sin to run rampant in the church.

The Lord opened my eyes and showed me some preachers and people in church, in a worship service. Hands were raised and it appeared that God was moving, and being worshiped.

Then in a moment, the Lord showed me the same church, the same people that were worshipping. In the same church building that they were worshipping in, it turned into an orgy. Sex immorality every where. In the building that housed the church.

Over 3 decades ago, when I was just born again and involved in the sin of porn and the sin of self gratification, commonly called masturbation, one of the first pornographic movies that I’ve seen was a orgy. Up until that time, I didn’t know what an orgy was. It is the most vile exposure of simultaneous sexual activity among people.

It is where everybody is engaging in some form of sex with different partners. Male on male. Female on female. Opposite and same sex acts. Switching partners and switching body parts. Entering a man and then entering a woman. Entering a woman and then entering a man.

I know that this is graphic but you need to see and understand clearly what is going on in our churches.

This is what is going on in the church today and the world is telling us that it’s all right. They approve of what we are doing and we cannot tell them anything about morals because the church is immoral as the world.

Just now, the Lord gave me this.

The church is a bisexual church. We are in a relationship or claim to be in a relationship with Almighty God but we are sleeping on the side with the devil.

Do not misunderstand me. I am using bisexuality as an analogy.

Spiritually speaking, we claim to love God but we have betrayed Him. We are not faithful. We are “Adulterers and adulteresses,” (see James 4:4).

Church, these are the last days. Make your calling and election sure. Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand. Time is running out and the day is at hand. Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord.

The Gospel or Gimmicks?

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor.

The Gospel or Gimmicks, Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

The moral decline of a nation has it’s roots in the moral decline of the church of the Lord Jesus Christ (see Proverbs 14:34).

There was a time in the church that people would be unashamed to tell folks of their eternal destiny should they die in a Christ-less grave.

My, have times changed.

Our prominent preachers on Daystar, The Word Network, TBN, and other broadcast venues are too preoccupied with pulling more money out of the pockets of saints across the United States and the world to be concerned about souls.

Covetousness is the doctrine of the church in this hour according to 1 Timothy 6:3-10.

Do not get me wrong, at the end of most of their broadcasts, they do give an “invitation” but is it effective?

Only the Holy Spirit will know.

Almost every broadcast, you see them or their spokesperson asking you to buy books, cd series, and other “Christian” paraphernalia to raise money.

For what?

The claim is to “preach the gospel throughout the world.”

While some of these ministries are involved in international missionary work, the backdoor is left wide open.

What are we really getting out of these conferences?

We go from conference to conference, praise and worship concert to concert. And we do not care to ask someone to come and be in the presence of God. Let alone, having an altar call at these conferences or concerts.

It has gotten to the point that all we care about is the Grammy and other worldly awards. Just remember, you got your reward. Do not look for Jesus to give you one according to 1 Corinthians 3:9-15 and 9:24-27.

Do not get me wrong. There are conferences and concerts that do give an altar call but there are others that do not. Some of them believe that it is wrong to “intrude.”

Excuse me?

Jesus died for the sins of the world to save us from hell and we do not what to “intrude?”

Are you kidding me?

Then the sin that takes place after these conferences and concerts would make the world blush. Sexual immorality and pederasty taking place in the hotels after being in the “presence of the Lord.”

Falling prostrate before the presence of the Lord in prayer with fasting in one of these conferences or musical conferences, is something left to be desired.

Are we really on fire for God in the United States? What is really happening in our prayer meetings? And what is the results in the communities the Lord assigned us to minister to? Are we a church purporting community services, “faith based” ministry, or are we changing lives by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Have we become so disconnected from our Lord that we allow the world to dictate what the church is supposed to be doing? Are we just a convenience store or are we the blood bought church of the Lord Jesus?

Are we being silenced by the local governments so we could receive government money for our silence?

Talk about separation of church and state.

The government wants you to take their money but you can’t talk about sin when you need to. Hence, our silence is their permission.

Pastors that compromise the gospel of Jesus Christ will have to answer to the Head of the Church. Children of God that compromise will have to answer to the Head of Church.

No one escapes according to Luke 12:42-48.

Are we being persecuted like the early church for taking a stand against the moral decline of our communities? Are we feeling the heat or are we too comfortable in our air conditioned sanctuaries to make a difference for Jesus? Are you willing to leave it to “other” churches to be a witness or are you willing to take a risk and do something extraordinary for Jesus?

Jesus did something extraordinary for you over 2000 years ago. What will the final chapters of the book of Acts speak of you, your ministry, and your church? Are you chasing after gimmicks or are you preaching the gospel?

We are seeing church growth decline. The answers simple. The believers are too preoccupied with the “cares, riches, and pleasures of life” to be concerned about a person’s eternal destiny, let alone, their own. Our churches are emptying. Few to no births are taking place in the house to offset the decline of attendance according to 1 Timothy 4:1-2 and 2 Timothy 4:3-4.

We are substituting the gospel of Jesus Christ with gimmicks. We are not challenging people to live holy before the Lord. We are no longer concern about sharing Christ after we preach a message of salvation. We are no longer concerned about discipling them to live like Jesus lived on the earth.

There was a YouTube video of a man dying of cancer. He shared about the eternal bliss of heaven that he had a glimpse of. But suddenly, he talked about the most horrible place that unsaved people are destined for.

He said that it was a place that you should avoid. He said that it was horrible. You do not want to go there.

Obviously, he made Jesus Lord before and was warning people of the horrors of hell. His daughter had the wisdom to capture on tape what he experienced.

Just a few hours later, he passed into eternity to be with the Lord forever. Glory to God!

But as he passed away, think about the many individuals that passed away on that same day, in that same hour. Think about the many people that entered into eternity, expecting to go up to glory, only to feel the pull of gravity, the flames intensifying, passing through the gates of hell, never to escape. They forfeited their chance to repent by choice to never receive Jesus as Lord and Savior.

All who pass through there must abandon all hope. Their only break from the torment will be the Great White Throne Judgment. Then it’s the lake of fire.

On National Geographic, a man was a tour guide for volcanoes. They came across one that was spewing molten lava. The only one of its kind in the world. It literally looked like a lake of fire. Viewing this presentation took place after I viewed the YouTube video and I couldn’t help but to firmly come to grips with the fact that once you pass through, there is no hope.

Imagine burning, but living. Burning, but never dying. Never ending burning that will never cease forever.

Carlton Pearson, who I believe is an apostate preacher, asked a question. Why would a loving God throw men and women into hell? The answer is simple.

While hell was made for the devil and his angels (see Matthew 25:41), sin and death must be placed there as well (see Revelation 20:14-15). When the Lord God sent Jesus to die for the sins of the world, we have an opportunity to accept the terms of salvation, through the life, death, physical burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus to avoid hell.

When man willingly refuses the gift of God, eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord, the wages of sin is death. God is a holy God and sin cannot abide in His presence. Sin is rebellion. Sin is opposed to God. Sin is inconsistent with the nature and character of God. Therefore, we are given a choice. To live or to die. To be with the Lord or be separated from the Lord forever.

This is the true purpose that is to drive the church. To preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The good news that we do not have to die and go to hell.

Think about the thousands of people that refused to accept Jesus as Lord in that same hour. Their eternal fate is sealed forever.

On this side of eternity, you have one life to live. Each day the sands of the hour glass drop. Your time is coming too.

You see, the church is headed in the wrong direction because we do not preach the gospel like we should. The gospel of Jesus Christ is about redeeming mankind from sin. The church is caught up in covetous activities.

Our leaders are preaching a different gospel. A social, self help gospel. Apostate preachers are preaching an “inclusive” gospel.

We are wondering if the economy is ever going to get back on track so we can have “Rag Time” all over again.

When will the “Good Times” roll? When will we be able to live again like we used to? Sorry to let you in a little secret. But you will never see the days of the last decade ever again. Remember, we are living in the last of the last days. These are perilous times according to 2 Timothy 3:1-9.

But it doesn’t matter now to the carnal Christians and preachers living in sin or refusing to preach the gospel to win souls. Their empire matters more than the kingdom of God. The preachers of prominence are out there and almost every preacher is preaching what they are preaching. Souls be condemned.

After reading an article about Robert Sculler’s children taking control of the Crystal Cathedral to set it back on the righteous intent of His church, I began to take stock of what Prevailing Word Ministries is doing.

Are we effectively preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ? Are souls being won to the Lord? Are people getting born again through our ministry? After all, the church is here for one purpose only.

The church is built on one statement. Peter said in Matthew’s gospel, chapter 18 and verse 16,

“You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Pastor, child of God, if you and your church is doing everything else but reaching the lost, it is a purposeless, Christ-less agenda and you will answer to the Head of the Church for it. Pastor, child of God, in your church, there will be 6 out of 7 reasons why your church is ineffective according to Revelation chapters 2 and 3.

Which one or more is the reason your church is ineffective?

In this hour, it is time to give up the gimmicks and preach the uncompromising gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. A dying sinner awaits your message of good news.

Cliques vs. The Body of Christ

by Fred C. Rochester, Pastor. Copyright 2011. All Rights Reserved.

There is a difference between a clique and the Body of Christ.

The definition of clique is an exclusive circle of people with a common purpose. The synonyms are interesting.

A clique is also called “coterie, ingroup, inner circle, pack, camp.”

There is a threefold bond that cliques have in common with believers in the local church.

1. Both desire connection.

2. Both desire a sense of belonging.

3. Both desire a sense of God worth, God value, and God purpose.

Depending upon the size of the local church, association of cliques along these lines manifests among several inter-communities of believers. In other words, within a local church, there could be several interconnected or disconnected cliques operating apart from the Body of Christ. Paul called them “schisms.”

Paul expressed in 1 Corinthians 1 and verse 10 that, “…there be no divisions among…” them. If you haven’t noticed, schisms means division.

In 1 Corinthians chapter 1, Paul understood that when sectarianism takes place, the local church is fractured and it won’t last because contentions in the Body is very destructive.

In Mark chapter 3, verses 24 – 26 (NIV), the Lord Jesus said, “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.”

Contention’s root cause is personality conflicts and egos.

You could be called a pastor but for some reason, they cannot receive from you because of your personality or because of pride in the heart of the believer, they refuse to receive. So, they pursue associations with a company of people that feel comfortable with their personality. And sometimes that company is a company of egotistical people.

In the negative, you may be a part of a clique that is against pastoral leadership. Sometimes, this clique exist because of some kind of wound inflicted by the pastor (whether knowingly or unknowingly).

Sometimes believers do not know the difference between pastoral leadership and pastors wounding people in the church. That’s because sometimes hurt happens so often to some believers in church, that when pastoral leadership is exerted, it is mistaken for pastoral hurt.

For instance, when the pastor places a policy that everyone is to meet for prayer before choir rehearsal. All of a sudden, each week, the one that is to sing the solo constantly and intentionally miss prayer. Then the pastor steps in and sits the “soloist” down.

While it is important to find out the reason, it is left up to the pastor to enforce the policy. When they are told that they cannot sing, believers feel wounded. But the policy must be enforced because it is not fair to the other choir members. Latitude is given to understand the reason for not attending prayer but if the reason is not legitimate, the pastor has no choice but to enforce the policy.

Sometimes people are not persons under authority. In other words, they do not want to be told anything that would undermine their rule of cliques. The rule is simple; never submit to authority, especially pastoral authority. And if there is people closely associated with the pastor, make life difficult for the associated. Resist everything they say and do.

Cliques are born out of a rebellious nature. When the pastor exercises Biblical leadership and pastoral authority according to Isaiah 40:11, Acts 20:28, Hebrews 13:17, and 1 Peter 5:1-3, people will either come under that authority or reject it. It is not right for the pastor to coerce or manipulate people to follow.

It is the pastor’s job to foster church atmosphere where people can be a part of the local church. It also demands that the pastor quickly eliminate anything that counters the Christ like flow of the local church, including cliques.

Eliminating the clique will take firm Christ like pastoral leadership, love, grace, and a willingness to divert their energy from destructive habits to constructive unity. Remember, Jesus loves everyone. However, such love is not to be taken as weakness and permission to engage in destructive behaviors.

Psalm 23, the latter portion of verse 4 states, “Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

When it comes to a pastor fostering the Christ like atmosphere in the church, he or she will use the staff, not the rod. The staff is used to rescue, guide, and fold the flock of God. It is never to be used as a weapon of choice or used to separate, and cause divisions.

The staff is only used in the case of sin among rebellious believers, and a refusal of the clique and clique leaders to drop the issue of disunity in the church, that separation is warranted. A pastor cannot afford to spend a disproportionate amount of time diffusing issues. We are to spend precious time being on fire for God, not putting out clique fires among believers.

When cliques are causing a disturbance in the church, the Lord gives grace to a pastor to diffuse the disturbance. Pastors that know their flock according to Proverbs 27:23, will seek to bring understanding, healing where necessary, and firm spiritual leadership to bring people together before things get out of hand.

All disturbances will have a demonic root cause.

There is a difference between disagreements and disturbances.

Disagreements can be resolved or a person may choose to agree to disagree. Bringing a disturbance is attempting to violently bring about attention to a position that cliques want established. Disturbances requires a usurping of pastoral authority, or any authority for that matter.

When a disturbance takes place, it is important for the pastor to stop the disturbance before it gets ugly.

WHY DO CLIQUES EXIST? What’s the difference between the two groups?

It’s about the kind and reason for the connection. When there is a person or group of people disconnection from the godly group, they will form a clique. The difference between the godly group and the clique is twofold. The difference is the substance undergirding the reason for the connection.

Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit, and walking in love is the foundation of godly connections in the Body.

The counterfeit of godly connections is ill-conceived misunderstandings based on speculation, assumption, mis-information or lack of facts about the godly group.

The reasons varies but the common denominator is that you believe, whether true or not, that the godly group has something against you. Therefore, you have something against the godly group. This happens because cliques never get to the real fact of the matter.

Sometimes people never get to resolution because of the heat or rage within the mind of the cliques and clique leaders. The only thing that matters to cliques is the nuance of the issue. It’s called “drama.”

The mistake of believers in the local church is that they make unrealistic set of additional rules that are not Biblical. Almost like a sorority. Sometimes it is designed to keep others away that they wrongly consider as undesirable for association. Certain ungodly rules from a group professing to be godly is a form of rejection. These things is not consistent with Biblical or Christlike fellowship based on 1 John chapters 3 & 4.

Permission of inconsistent lifestyles. Permission of sin, confusion, discord, disunity, disharmony, gossip, backbiting, hating, jealousy, wrath, and sexual immorality of any kind. You’d be surprised of the cliques that want to keep their sin in the church. Pastors and the believers in the local church cannot compromise to have peace among believers. The only peace that is allowed is through the shed blood of Jesus. He brought peace through the blood of His cross. Peace with God, that is. To permit sin to coexist is error of the highest kind.

You feel you can’t be a part of the godly group because you’ve misconceived in your own mind that you can’t get in. This is all dependent upon what you want to bring to the table of the local church. Then what happens is that a wide range of self generated unjustified acts against the local church is initiated when what you desire to bring is inconsistent with the Word of God, and against pastoral policy. Then there is generated reasons and actions that are completely graceless and baseless. Such as…

1. Lack of facts, even half baked truths.

2. Ridiculous hear say.

Misinformation, misunderstanding, misconstrued information, and misconception emitted from clique leaders always miss the point. They are missing the one ingredient. The Body looks to love, not hate. Connect not assume connections. Pursue God and peace with everybody while learning to walk in the Spirit.

Misinformation could be demonically inspired if you refuse to confirm or affirm any information against the righteous principles, the Word of God.

If you are looking to bring in your godless lifestyle, then that is reason enough to make adjustments in your life to line up with the Word of God to be a part of the godly group.

Cliques develop a mirror of what is seen in the godly group and they attempt to establish connections with others that agree with your heart.

Most cliques will mirror what the Body of Christ is doing except when it comes to the core reason of existence.

The difference between cliques and the believers in the local church is known in three areas according to Romans 14:17.

1. Righteousness in the Holy Spirit.

2. Peace in the Holy Spirit.

3. Joy in the Holy Spirit.

A clique will not have any of these things evident. They will give the appearance but the substance, the depth, and serious commitment to righteously connect will be found to be lacking.

People that are connected to cliques are not right, they have no peace, and they are not happy or joyful.

Cliques are disgruntled, disillusioned, dissatisfied, and disconnected.

What is the remedy? How do you prevent yourself from joining a clique?

It’s found in Galatians 5:16-26.

When we walk in the Spirit, we will erase cliques and become the Body of Christ. You must remember that the devil will do anything to divide the Body of Christ. The devil will use any device (fiery darts) to burn a hole in the defense of the local church. We must be vigilant against the devil and not be tricked into yielding the smallest weapon in the devil’s arsenal. Our tongues (see James chapter 3).

We have to learn to keep our minds holy and our mouths shut. Except to speak the Word of God.

“Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.” Proverbs 16:19

The same energy that it takes to be proud is the same energy used to walk humbly before God and people. It’s a matter of the human will to climb down from Mount Ego to walk in the Valley of Humility. The shadow of death is always in the valley, never in the mountains. You might feel justified establishing a clique that is crosswise of the flow in the local church. But what did you gain? Dividing the spoil with the proud. Humility, and humbleness of mind will always prevent episodes of humiliation.

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” Proverbs 16:18.

“And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.” Ephesians 5:2

It takes just a decision to walk in love. Cliques can be destroyed when we choose to take the road that Christ walked on. You will not have any time to be a clique when you give yourself like He gave Himself to the church.

The result is that you will come out smelling as a sweet sacrifice to God.

To do anything else just plain stinks.

Like the example Dr. Earl Johnson gave about the Valley of Dry Bones in Ezekiel chapter 37.

When the bones were commanded to come together, they clicked and clacked as they came across each other. But the noise of the clicking and clacking came to an end. After the bones came together, the skin came back to the bodies and the breath of life came in to the bodies.

Sooner or later, the noise of cliques will end, the Body will come together, and God will breath the breath of life in us so we can live.,

Remain exceedingly abundantly blessed in Jesus! Ephesians 3:20
